I've been experimenting more with close-up photography and have found that this small lens is a great alternative to buying a dedicated macro lens for certain applications. I was initially considering the Canon 500D close-up lens, but this one is also achromatic, very sharp, and has a higher magnification ratio than the Canon. I originally bought the Raynox for close-ups with my Nikon Coolpix P510, but I've also used it on my Nikon 55-300 lens with my Nikon D40 & D5300 cameras. It seems to work best with my longer zoom lens, as I get some vignetting with my 55-140 lens but not with the 300mm lens.

The Raynox DCR 250 is a bit challenging to use compared to the DCR 150, but it's definitely worth it because it produces stunning photos. It's my favorite to use with my Sony hx400v super zoom camera. The higher the zoom, the more difficult it is to focus, but the magnification is also much better. Despite hearing that it's impossible to use the DCR 250 with a focal length over 300mm, I've successfully used it with my camera at a 600mm equivalent. You have to focus it with your body rather than the camera, as it will only be in focus within a certain distance from the subject, and that distance becomes smaller as you increase the focal length. The slightest movement can make your entire subject out of focus. I haven't used it with a tripod, but that could make it easier. I personally find tripods to be too restrictive and cumbersome. Just use a fast shutter and a steady hand and it should work fine.

The Canon L 100mm macro is an amazing little lens. It requires getting very close to the subject to focus, and may initially seem like there's a problem with it. It's best to use a tripod and remote to avoid any movement that could throw off the focus, as the depth of field is very shallow even at F22.

The lens I purchased is sharp and I am happy with it, however, it may cause strong vignetting with certain lenses. I bought a 80-210 Minolta F4 (Beercan) hoping for a good zoom range, but unfortunately it had strong vignetting at certain focal lengths. It does work well with my Minolta 135 3.5 lens. Additionally, I want to caution buyers that while it fits a 49mm lens, it is very tight and I recommend using a step-up ring for larger lenses to avoid breaking the tab. The description specifies 52mm to 67mm for a reason.

This Macro lens is compatible with the Nikon Coolpix P610 and significantly enhances its macro capabilities. Its spring loaded teeth make it easy to attach to the camera, and it can be used with any lens with threads from 52mm to 67mm. The lens works particularly well with the P610's zoom capabilities.

I really like this lens. It was affordable and easy to attach to my Panasonic Micro-FourThirds camera with 58mm filter size lenses. It takes amazing photos in the right conditions, but it took some time to get used to the shallow depth of field. I wish the carrying case was smaller and more pocket-friendly. I also have to be careful to avoid vignetting. Overall, it's a great and affordable accessory lens.

The 150 didn't seem much different from the previous version. I was a little let down, so I still like my 150 better.

This lens is a good value for the money, but I had difficulty using it with my Canon SX60. The spring grips didn't compress enough to release when trying to remove it, and I had to push it to get it to latch on. When I tried to remove it, it pulled the threading ring out of the camera lens, causing a bad experience. I was able to reattach it, but I won't be using it again.
