It appears that the details become less clear the closer you get to the subject. The photographs are of salt, and it seems that the salt grains may be too small. I'm not sure why they appear so soft. Perhaps I just need more practice with the attachment. While it is a good lens attachment, I wish it would maintain sharpness at closer distances.

I initially had doubts about this product due to my previous experiences with other macro filters. However, I am pleasantly surprised by how well this one works. It provides a significant amount of magnification to my macro shots when attached to my Canon 100mm f/2.8 lens. I particularly like the mechanism that allows it to easily snap on to the front of the lens without causing any damage. Despite some concerns mentioned in other reviews, I have not experienced any issues with it coming loose during use. Overall, it's a great fit for now and I am satisfied with its performance.

The lens is decent for close-up photography, like capturing detailed shots of insects. It's made of glass in Japan, with a plastic construction. Using a tripod is necessary to achieve clear and stable images.

I purchased this lens a few months ago and have found that it works very nicely and as expected. However, the snap mechanism can fail if not handled with care. Mine snapped off while I was on rocky terrain, resulting in scratches. Despite this, it is not a deal breaker as you can still take nice macros with it. I am not a photography expert and have a cheap Sony DSC-HX300 camera, so I don't have all the necessary equipment or knowledge of macro photography theory. However, I have been able to take some fairly good macros with this lens. (I have included two samples of macros that I took with it.)

The lens performs as advertised, providing super macro capabilities. However, achieving focus requires getting very close, which can startle insects. I'm considering trying the 150 option to see if it requires less proximity for focusing. Additionally, utilizing a mini tripod could be beneficial for using this lens.
