This unit is well constructed and provides a loud sound. To address this, simply unscrew the mounting screws and remove the unit from the shell. You will then see a white fan at the back of the unit. Pull the fan forward towards the front and slide it up on the motor shaft, giving it a spin to clear it from the back coils. Once completed, reattach the cover and place the A/C back in your window. It will then operate quietly, like new.

I highly recommend this A/C unit. It's not like your typical window unit as it's heavier and requires 2-3 hours for installation. You'll definitely feel the cool air from across the room, but don't try installing it alone.
