I have multiple units from this item and have been consistently satisfied with their performance for over a year. They were reasonably priced and have not caused any unexpected issues. The warranty has not been necessary, which is the best kind of warranty.

This air conditioner easily fits into the window sleeve of my subsidized housing apartment. A fellow tenant installed it without any issues and it cools my entire small apartment almost too well. For those who are experiencing the unit turning off and on, make sure to read the user manual - you need to turn the energy saver button off each time the machine is turned off and back on. I keep it on the auto setting and it works great. I haven't experienced any smell or excessive noise, and I hope it will last for years to come. The only minor complaint is that the buttons on the machine are hard to read due to small lettering. The packaging was very good. A year later and I still have no issues with smell or noise, and it operates fine into the second season since purchase.
