We have had good experiences with Impecca portable ACs in the past, with two units still working great after over four years and one breaking prematurely. We had high hopes for the newer 9kBTU model, but unfortunately, the compressor is very noisy, making it difficult to sleep with the cooling mode on. Other reviewers have also complained about the noise level. Additionally, the window panels did not work well for our tall horizontal sliding windows, so we had to create a custom panel setup using foam insulation and masking tape to seal around the window frame. Despite the ugly appearance, our blackout curtains and drapes hide the installation, and we take down the AC during cold and rainy seasons.

I initially purchased a unit for my west-facing window to keep my 8 dogs cool during hot summer days. The unit worked well, but recently had a defect causing the tank to not drain properly. After contacting Impecca customer service, they promptly offered to replace the unit. They even sent a replacement before receiving the defective unit, ensuring my dogs had continuous cooling. The company's flexibility and customer service were commendable. The unit may not perform like a heavy, stationary A/C, but it serves its purpose. Overall, I am satisfied with the unit and the company's response to the issue.

This item is functioning well, but I would prefer if the controls were placed on the front or side instead of on top. My cat tends to walk across it and accidentally turn it off.

I bought this portable air conditioner for my ground floor apartment a week ago and so far it's been great. I just realized that I have to connect the drain hose, whether I use the dehumidifier or not, and it's a bit loud but not enough to disturb sleep. The installation was quick and easy, and it came with several window guides, a remote, drain hose, and insulation foam. I would have given it 5 stars if it was quieter, but for the price and cool name, it's unbeatable.

I really appreciate this air conditioner for its affordable price and excellent value.
