I have been living in a home with all hardwood floors for over a year now. I had an upright vacuum from our old house, which was all carpeted. I bought hardwood brush attachments for the upright but it was still a hassle to drag it all over the house, so I ended up just sweeping. I finally started looking for something else and found the Lil red. I wasn't sure if it would be good for a whole house because it seems like most people use it in smaller spaces. It is lightweight and powerful. I use it daily because we have 2 dogs and 3 kids. My only complaint is we go through bags quite a lot because they are so small. But I'm ok with that.

I own two Miele vacuum cleaners, so I am quite picky. My son wanted a vacuum for his dorm so I checked local stores. I wanted a canister vacuum for him as I have always had better results with that type. I ended up buying this one, not expecting much for the low price. I was truly impressed with its performance. It would be fine for a small apartment or dorm room. It has some features I love about my Miele. Retractable cord, adjustable sucking power, telescopic wand. I love the handle for easy carrying. It is quite powerful, far more than I expected. And the color is fantastic - racing red!

I have two Miele vacuums - a heavy duty one and a lighter one for my daughter's apartment. The heavy duty one cost $700 and the lighter one cost $400. I needed a small, lightweight vacuum for my upstairs as it has become difficult for me to carry the heavy Miele up and down the stairs. It was also important to find a vacuum with a filter due to my daughter's dust allergies. I didn't think I could find a lightweight vacuum with a filter, but this lil vacuum met both of my criteria! I used it for the first time today and was impressed with the results. Even if it breaks (it's made in China by a company that specializes in industrial vacuums), it's still 1/4 of the cost of the Miele and I could replace it four times for the cost of one Miele (made in Germany). The main downside of the vacuum is the floor brush; the suction is concentrated in the middle and not across the entire brush so the suction is weak on the sides. But for spot vacuuming it's great!
