It is a unit that requires removing the guts, installing the outer shell in a window opening, and then reinserting the guts before use. It is easier to do with two people due to the weight of the unit. We found a helpful YouTube video for installation, which was much easier to follow than the included instructions. The unit does come with wings, so there is no need to purchase an extra set. The display lights are difficult to see during the day but are great at night due to their low brightness. The unit does a great job cooling and has an acceptable noise level. We are keeping the extra set of wings in case the current ones break, as they are just made of plastic.

The bottom of the box was damaged and appeared to have been in contact with some type of liquid. Additionally, there was a dent in the air conditioner cage and some missing screws. Despite these issues, we were able to install it in the window and it is currently cooling as expected.
