The only issue we had was having to create an opening for the AC due to the lack of windows and proper electrical wiring in the garage at the time.

The AC comes mostly assembled, with just the front pieces needing to be connected. Despite its powerful 18,000 BTU rating, it operates at a quiet 44dB. It is quite heavy at 110 pounds, but this is to be expected for such a powerful unit. The installation was straightforward, with the included curtain sliders, foam coverings, and mounting materials making it easy to get properly sealed off. The included remote and support brackets were also a nice touch.

During installation, I found that I needed additional support brackets and had to trim back part of the window lining to get it to fit. I also had to have a new outlet wired in to support the AC, which was an added expense and frustration. However, once it was up and running, I was very pleased with its performance. It is very quiet and effectively cools my ~500 Sqft ground floor. I have yet to see if it will have an impact on my energy bill, but I am overall very impressed with this AC and would recommend it to others.

I've insulated my garage but the double wide door isn't very good at keeping the heat in or out. Despite this, the garage stays warm in winter and cool in summer, making it a pleasant workspace year-round. It requires 240 volts, but if your breaker panel is in the garage like mine, it's not too difficult or expensive to wire in a dedicated plug.

It may have helped me avoid leaving out the top seal gasket if the installation instructions were clearer. I purchased this unit for both cooling in the summer and heating in the winter. I live in North Jersey and the 4000 watt heater eventually gets the temperature up to 60 degrees in February, which is suitable for me. It has great cooling power. However, after 8 months of use, the motor started to make noise. I contacted Todd at Living Direct (manufacturer direct) and he quickly responded and shipped out a new motor the next day. I am extremely pleased that I was able to replace the motor without having to transport the 120lb unit for service. I am very satisfied with the unit and especially the customer service!

This product works great in my large metal building with high walls and minimal insulation. Even in the Florida heat, it keeps the temperature inside the same as outside, around the low 90's. It also removes a lot of humidity, making it feel cooler. I plan to buy two more to bring the temperature down even further. The high fan speed is a bonus, as it helps circulate the air. Overall, I'm very pleased with how it keeps the building comfortable, especially since it would reach near 100 degrees inside without it.

This unit was purchased to replace a 25-year-old window unit in my 18' x 20' sunroom. The installation was a bit challenging due to the instructions not being very clear, but with careful reading and matching up the parts to the diagrams, it can be done. I recommend removing the unit from the case, installing the empty case in the window/opening, and then sliding the unit back into the secured case as instructed. The unit is heavy, so it���s best to follow the instructions to avoid injury or damaging the unit.

The performance of the unit is excellent. It can easily heat or cool my almost 400 sq ft sunroom with single pane glass. The noise level is better than my old unit, and the energy-saving mode is a great feature, making it seem more like a central unit. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase.

I was surprised to find that it's actually smaller than the previous unit, which was 40 years old. If I had known I would have more space, I would have opted for a 24,500 btu air conditioner. I also added a light chain from the back on each side to the eaves with a turnbuckle for additional support. The unit works fantastic, and I couldn't believe how much cold air it blocked. I would have given it 5 stars, but I had to figure out my own way around the fact that my windows slide side to side.
