I bought this item as a replacement for my dead Sunbeam AC, and so far, I'm satisfied with it. I've been using it in reverse for heat, and it's been blowing out 100F heat at 72F inside and 40F outside, with an Arduino controlling the compressor/air defrost. The soft start capacitor is great as it eliminates the loud clunk when the compressor kicks in, unlike my old unit. It's also slightly quieter, measuring at 82 dB a few inches away. I'm hopeful that I can run it on a 1500w (peak) inverter.

However, I've noticed that the exterior casing is a lot flimsier than my old unit, making it easy to accidentally twist and bend. The paint is also easy to scratch, so I need to be careful, especially where condensation collects. On the plus side, the knobs seem sturdier than my previous unit.

Overall, for the price, I'm pretty happy with this purchase, as long as it holds up.
