I store this AC in a waterproof box in my garage and have it ready to use when the power goes out. We had to rely on a generator for 6 days during a hurricane a few years ago, and this small unit kept my bedroom cool. I will always have one of these units on standby in case of power outage or as a temporary room cooler if my central unit fails.

We have been pleased with the performance of this unit, especially considering its price. It is quite noisy, so we only use it during the day in our living room. The installation was a bit difficult due to unclear instructions and the screws caused damage to our window sill. However, we were able to secure it on the third floor window and it has held up well during storms. We do need to hang a curtain to keep the cool air in the room, but once we do, the room cools down quickly even in direct sunlight. Without the curtain, the unit is powerful enough to cool our entire apartment, which can be a nice feature.
