I have purchased two of these so far and both are working well. They are a little noisy, but I can overlook that. I had a bad experience with a GE air conditioner, it stopped working just after the warranty expired. However, the Impecca has been much better and cools great. My cats and I are happy to be cool again. Hopefully these will last a while until I can afford to buy a couple more as backups for next year, in case one of them stops working again.

During the recent heat wave, we used this unit to help our central air. It can cool one bedroom or two bedrooms to a comfortable level. Because my sliding windows only open to 16 inches, I had to create a custom shelf for it that doesn't require screws in the window frame. It's not pretty, but it's a temporary solution.

This review may not be what you typically expect, but it's a unique set up for using a room AC. I've rigged it for my truck camper shell in case I need to sleep in warm weather while traveling or camping. I'll only bring it along during the warmer months. I made a plywood tailgate with a square hole for the AC to fit into. I'll power it with a small generator, although I've only tested it using my house power so far. I realize this review may not apply to everyone, but it's my custom solution for staying cool on the road.

Our 1950s home has wider windows that required us to use duct tape and other materials to cover the holes, but it gets the job done and keeps the cold out.
