After installing this in a medium-sized room of about 300 square feet in Southwest Florida, I was pleasantly surprised. It keeps the room very cool, almost bordering on cold!

I purchased this for my tenant and it works very well. However, I didn't realize it doesn't come with a remote, so I'm not sure why it has a remote rating. It is completely manual. It is designed for smaller rooms and may take some time to cool off. I installed it in a 10x16 room and it was comfortable within 10 minutes.
