I bought this window unit for my daughter's first rental house at college. Her room is in an older addition and doesn't have great airflow. As a mom who has never installed a window unit before, I found the directions easy to follow and had no problems with installation. The unit cools her room nicely and she is very happy with it. It's not too loud, just enough white noise to be relaxing. I would definitely recommend this unit, especially for the price.
