After being warned that new concrete can take up to 5 years to cure and can lead to mold and mildew, we discovered significant condensation and mildew in our 1200 square foot open basement. Heating wasn't an option, so we opted for a dehumidifier that could work in a large area. After setting it up and running it constantly, the wet corner dried up within a week and no other areas or furniture were affected. Even during extremely cold temperatures, the dehumidifier was able to keep the basement dry.
