The air conditioner works well, but it makes a loud rubbing noise for several seconds when it shuts down, which is enough to wake me up at night. As a result, I now just try to cool the room and then turn it off to avoid the noise. The remote is also not very user-friendly as it has no lighting to guide you in the dark, making it difficult to use at night. Overall, the other features of the air conditioner are good, but these issues are frustrating.

I was relieved that UPS delivered the AC earlier than expected, especially during the 98-degree weather in NYC. After setting it to 72 degrees on auto, I was pleasantly surprised by how well it performed in my large studio apartment. The only downside is that the wording on the remote control is hard to read.

This AC unit works as advertised. I followed the recommended steps to mount it in my garage using the suggested sleeve. However, I would caution against installing it yourself if you are not confident with load bearing walls. It is not as simple as just making a hole and sliding the sleeve in; reinforcing the area where I cut a stud was necessary. It's important to know what you're doing, have someone who does, or hire a professional for installation. I've attached photos of my installation and it has been keeping my garage at a reasonable temperature in 110-degree weather.

This AC unit is a great deal for the price. It works well for a small room, and I specifically bought it for my bedroom on the third floor where it gets really hot in the summer. It keeps the room cool all night long. It is a bit noisy, but that's to be expected with any AC unit. Once you get used to the noise, it's not a big deal. I purchased this unit to replace a window air conditioner that was improperly installed in my room. The new air conditioner fits perfectly and works great! The remote did not work initially, but I will try a new battery before giving up on it. This unit quickly cools my small room, although it's not the quietest. I bought an 10K BTU unit, which is more than enough for my room. It works so well that I can leave the door open and use a fan to cool the rest of the apartment until we purchased a larger unit for the living room. It weighs about 60 pounds, so you may need help carrying and installing it, but I was able to manage on my own. The plug fits into a standard 3-prong outlet, and I made sure to buy a 115V unit to avoid tripping a circuit. Overall, I am happy with this unit and would recommend it to others. If you already have a sleeve installed in your wall, consider getting a Through The Wall unit like this one. Just be sure to measure your sleeve and check your outlet voltage before purchasing any unit.

I believe this unit is a great value for the price, with good basic features that work well. I live in the hot and humid Midwest, and this unit has effectively controlled the temperature in my 12 by 16 sunroom with a vaulted ceiling, even on hot and sunny days. The installation was a major job for me, as I had to cut a hole in the sunroom and reroute some electrical, but the directions were fairly clear. One issue I encountered was with the shims on the bottom of the unit, as they were too thick and did not allow for proper installation into the sleeve. However, I was able to trim them with a utility blade and make them fit. Overall, I am satisfied with this unit and would recommend it to others.

After extensively researching recommended wall unit ACs, we decided to purchase 2 of these to replace our old units in our bedrooms. Our previous wall sleeve dimensions were 27x17, and even though we did not use the Impecca wall sleeve, the AC units still fit snugly with the foam padding provided in the packaging. The installation was easy, and within 20-30 minutes, it effectively cooled our 100 sq ft bedroom from 101 degrees to 70. One of the remotes initially didn't work, but was easily fixed with a new battery. The unit is relatively quiet on low mode. Additionally, the shipping was fast, arriving a few days earlier than expected.

It's important to let the AC acclimate if it was sitting on its side in the box, and ensure that it is pitched to the outside for condensation. This air conditioner easily fits into the window sleeve of my subsidized housing apartment. A fellow tenant installed it without any issues and it cools my entire small apartment almost too well. For those who are experiencing the unit turning off and on, make sure to read the user manual - you need to turn the energy saver button off each time the machine is turned off and back on. I keep it on the auto setting and it works great. I haven't experienced any smell or excessive noise, and I hope it will last for years to come. The only minor complaint is that the buttons on the machine are hard to read due to small lettering. The packaging was very good. A year later and I still have no issues with smell or noise, and it operates fine into the second season since purchase.

The device cools quickly and effectively, the delivery was faster than expected and free, but the remote control is very fragile and completely flat; it is impossible to use by touch especially in the dark when trying to change settings. This air conditioning unit is a good price compared to a $1,700 unit. The height of the unit with the case was nearly the same as the old unit being replaced, so it fit with some trimming. It comes with a remote, which is convenient for our small separate room. The build quality is not great - it's standard Chinese quality with holes that don't line up and overall cheapness. The instruction manual is only clear because of the pictures. There was a lot of packing material and foam insulation included, but it didn't all fit as shown. It took about an hour to put the sleeve together and two hours to fit it into the wall with blocking. I also built a support structure outside to give the unit more support. One issue with the A/C is the lack of a clear drain line. I'm sure it will leak condensate, but I haven't figured out where it comes out. It definitely requires two people to install. Overall, it seemed like the best unit I could find with a reasonable seer rating, and I would buy it again if needed.

I am satisfied with how this air conditioner effectively cools my 15'��17' room. However, there are two flaws that prevent me from giving it a higher rating. Firstly, the remote often malfunctions and requires me to remove and reinstall the battery. Additionally, the buttons on the remote are difficult to read and not raised enough, making it hard to distinguish between them. Secondly, the plastic frame housing the instrument panel arrived damaged, causing the panel to push inside the frame after manually pressing a few buttons.

However, when we received it, the box was filled with concrete dust and rubble, which made a mess in our newly cleaned apartment, including on our latex mattress topper. I'm concerned that the concrete dust may have gotten inside the AC during shipping and will be blown around the apartment. I contacted Compact Appliance and while they were quick to respond, they could not explain why this happened. If you buy this AC, be prepared for the possibility of receiving a box filled with concrete dust.

I purchased this air conditioner in April, well in advance of when I anticipated needing it. However, when the weather grew hot and humid, I was extremely disappointed with its performance. Despite being rated at 10,000 BTU, it only runs for short periods before shutting off, possibly to achieve a high EER. As a result, it does not effectively cool the room.

I had a bit of a hassle with the first unit being lost in transit, but gave me a refund and I was able to reorder. It took an extra week to receive the second unit, which was frustrating since I pay for Prime for the fast shipping. However, the unit itself arrived undamaged and works really well. It's powerful enough to cool my 250 sq ft apartment and has a lot of useful features, including a great remote. The directions were surprisingly easy to understand. Just be aware that ordering may take longer than expected, so plan accordingly to avoid being without a cooling unit for a week!

The air conditioner arrived packaged as if it were made of glass. After opening the box, I found it to be in perfect condition, without a single mark or dent. While this may seem unusual for an air conditioner review, it demonstrates the high level of care that Impecca puts into their product.
