This air conditioner works by drawing air from your house and pumping it out the window to release the heat. This creates a vacuum in your house, causing it to draw in air from outside, but it can't cool a large area very well. It's best for smaller, closed-off spaces. It's easy to set up and store, and the remote control is convenient. It's also portable, so you can move it from room to room. A window shaker style may work better, but it's not as portable.

The portable ac was recently purchased and is working well. We're considering getting another one for the room.
