Quality Efficiently cools a compact room.
Review by Seals / (Posted on 3/27/2024)This air conditioner works by drawing air from your house and pumping it out the window to release the heat. This creates a vacuum in your house, causing it to draw in air from outside, but it can't cool a large area very well. It's best for smaller, closed-off spaces. It's easy to set up and store, and the remote control is convenient. It's also portable, so you can move it from room to room. A window shaker style may work better, but it's not as portable. -
Quality So far: Up to now
Review by Jessica / (Posted on 3/26/2024)The portable ac was recently purchased and is working well. We're considering getting another one for the room. -
Quality Energy Efficient and Satisfying
Review by jeffmc57 / (Posted on 3/22/2024)This product is great - it's energy efficient, runs fairly quiet, and looks fantastic. Better yet, there's no need to constantly drain water if you're only using the air conditioner. It's also pretty simple to install. I installed mine to stay permanently, and if you do the same, I recommend using a tube of good clear sealant, like Flex Seal. -
Quality Cooling system upgrade.
Review by Michael / (Posted on 3/19/2024)The product is working very well, I've had it for about a month. -
Quality Ideal for Penthouse Living!
Review by Embry / (Posted on 3/2/2024)The 14,000 BTU air conditioner is ideal for our 850 sq ft apartment on the top floor. It was easy to install and has been very effective at cooling down the apartment quickly. The air seems to circulate much better than with our old air conditioner. It has 3 fan speeds and has made it much more bearable to survive 90 degree days. -
Quality Functioning properly
Review by Eric / (Posted on 2/17/2024)The kit I bought works well for my sliding glass door. I just wish it was designed specifically for sliding glass doors. It's not as effective as a window unit, but it did keep my living room cool during days over 100 degrees. It's a little loud, but overall I'm happy with my purchase. -
Quality Refreshed me during the heat.
Review by EDMOND / (Posted on 1/10/2024)This portable AC unit effectively cools a 100sq ft area and is easy to store and use. It includes a window vent that is simple to attach and remove. -
Quality Works, Works, Works, Works, Works, Works, Works, Works, Works, Works.
Review by Mn60life / (Posted on 1/5/2024)The product functions effectively. -
Quality Suitable for a small apartment, may require a second unit.
Review by A / (Posted on 1/2/2024)This portable ac functions effectively in any room where it is installed. However, it may struggle to cool the entire advertised space due to air flow limitations. To improve airflow, consider placing small box fans within your living space. Additionally, you may need to invest in a second unit if you want to maintain temperatures below 70 degrees during the summer. -
Quality Rapidly cooled down my room
Review by Jonathan / (Posted on 12/10/2023)This portable ac was a game-changer for me. My room was always too hot in the summer, but it only took an hour after setting it up to bring the temperature down to a comfortable level. It made a huge difference for the rest of the summer. I'll have to wait and see if it continues to work well next summer. -
Quality User-friendly operation and installation, just follow these instructions.
Review by Nicole / (Posted on 12/8/2023)The portable ac works well, but I wish there was some sort of covering on the vent hose outside to prevent dirt and debris from entering the unit and then into the house. It seems like there should be a material that could fit over the mouth of the vent to solve this issue. -
Quality Rising HVAC_costs
Review by Seller / (Posted on 11/28/2023)Unfortunately, my HVAC system started having issues this summer. I noticed a slow refrigerant leak and initially thought it was just because my unit was old and couldn't keep up. I ended up buying a new unit to try and fix the problem, but it was only able to keep the first floor of my house cool and comfortable when it was running at maximum capacity. This bought me enough time to call an HVAC repair company to come and fix the issue. -
Quality FROSTY!
Review by Mat / (Posted on 11/19/2023)This unit is the perfect solution for keeping my room freezing cold without driving up my power bill. It has greatly improved my sleep quality and I couldn't be happier with it. -
Quality Functions exceedingly effectively.
Review by Christine / (Posted on 11/14/2023)I recently moved into a condo without AC, so I researched portable air conditioner units and chose this one for its size, power, and price. It has been working great for the past two summers, cooling my long narrow living room, nook, and kitchen. Setting it up was easy and it's fairly quiet. The noise doesn't bother me and there hasn't been much condensation in the bottom tray. I ordered it from Seller and it arrived in perfect condition on my front porch, making it easy to get inside. -
Quality Cool Air Conditioning
Review by Rob / (Posted on 11/13/2023)This air conditioner is perfect for a 300 sq ft room. It's not very noisy and cools the space quickly. The dehumidifier function works very effectively. I highly recommend it, especially considering its great price compared to others. -
Quality Quality comes at a price
Review by Derick / (Posted on 10/31/2023)This air conditioner is fantastic. it's smaller than other models, but it's well-made and easy to move. It cools down a 600 sq ft area quickly. The exhaust is better than others I've tried in the past year, and it doesn't unclip from the unit or wall. The timer and other features are convenient. It's a great choice. -
Quality Not what I had in mind, but still good
Review by Gaby / (Posted on 10/26/2023)I purchased an air conditioner for my 710 sqft apartment, but it only cools my bedroom and the noise it makes when it turns on and off is bothersome when I'm trying to sleep. It works well otherwise and does not leak. I would recommend it for those living in San Diego. -
Quality Cost-effective and practical
Review by Jimmy / (Posted on 10/19/2023)I purchased this product to use as a backup air conditioner in my 5th Wheel RV. After carefully considering the location, I found it easy to install. The 14k BTU model was a bit heavy, but I managed to install it myself. I used the styrofoam packaging to elevate the unit to near window height, minimizing hose length and heat exhaust. It is currently working well at 105 Fahrenheit outside temperature and I believe it is an excellent value for the money. I highly recommend this product. -
Quality Faulty product and poor customer service at Impecca
Review by Pali / (Posted on 10/16/2023)The unit is heavy and functions well, but it arrived with a damaged window insert. The seller's customer service connected me to Impeccaecker for a replacement part, but I have made almost 10 unsuccessful attempts to get a response about my warranty. I am extremely dissatisfied and will not be purchasing their product again. Despite numerous calls, emails, and website inquiries, I have yet to receive the replacement part. It has been a negative experience overall. -
Quality It cools down fairly rapidly.
Review by Sherrie / (Posted on 10/2/2023)The switch to a floor model was necessary, but the set up was easy. I was able to do it myself, so you can too. However, I was disappointed that the filter was not a true mesh filter as I had expected. -
Quality Bedroom in need of emergency attention!
Review by Mr. Tom / (Posted on 9/29/2023)The 14,000 BTU Air Portable Conditioner has been a fantastic addition to my son's bedroom. It operates incredibly quietly, cools the room quickly, and has a fantastic oscillating feature. The exhaust vent comes with attachments that make it compatible with both slider and double hung windows. Unfortunately, it doesn't work with casement windows. One great feature is that the unit evaporates water and humidity, eliminating the need to empty buckets in the toilet. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase. -
Quality Loud cooling but effective
Review by SBA / (Posted on 9/26/2023)This portable AC is simple to set up and effectively cools the space. However, it is quite noisy, like most portable ACs. If permitted, we would prefer to use a window unit instead. -
Quality Ideal for a workshop.
Review by Robert / (Posted on 9/25/2023)The air conditioner works well in my 480 sq ft garage, but it takes a while to cool down in the Florida heat. Once it's cooled, it makes working in the garage comfortable. I recommend turning it on the night before so it's cool in the morning, and try to minimize opening the garage door too often. -
Quality Mediocre but acceptable
Review by Richard / (Posted on 9/23/2023)The weather is actually hot in the southern region, so it's not shocking that things are a bit slower. -
Quality Performance. -> Execution.
Review by Seller / (Posted on 9/18/2023)It was difficult to install. -
Quality Gets The Job Done
Review by Seller / (Posted on 9/17/2023)We had to replace our old unit during a heatwave and this one seemed like a good choice. We didn't want anything too fancy and it cools well. It also looks nice. Just like others have mentioned, we had to raise it a bit for the drain to work properly. I'm still trying to understand how the timer works, the manual doesn't have enough information for me. The only thing I would change is to add illumination to the buttons, they're hard to see in low light. -
Quality Air temperature must be 62 or cooler
Review by cornDog / (Posted on 9/6/2023)The 14,000 btu Impecca Portable AC works best when allowed to sit upright for 24 hours before use. It is recommended to keep the blue tape strips on the unit to seal the seams. The unit is most effective when used in a window installation, as the air dryer vent exhaust did not work well. Despite this, it easily cools a closed bedroom and is still able to cycle on and off with the door open.
When the compressor starts, the noise level does not increase, and the fan noise is dominant, resulting in a low total noise level. The remote control has a minimum temperature setting of 64 degrees, and there is some residual heat into the room from the warm exhaust tube. It is noted that a window AC unit may be more efficient in terms of preventing heat from entering the room.
The unit was installed using a clothes dryer exhaust vent tube with the included hose, and it is best installed with the vent on the back in a straight line of sight to the bottom of the window or dryer vent. The unit only requires the window to be open 7 inches and can accommodate window widths ranging from 20 to 59 inches without heavy supports for the window vent.
In terms of electric usage, I noted that the unit uses 12 amps, equivalent to 1,500 watts, resulting in an electric cost of about 25 cents per hour or $6 per day with an example electric cost of 17 cents per KWh. Central AC is considered to be more efficient in terms of electric cost.
Overall, my observation is that central AC is the most efficient in terms of electric cost, while window and portable AC units can be effective when used in a single closed room. It is also mentioned that the remote control batteries are not included, requiring 2 AAA batteries. -
Quality My bedroom can get chilly in the summer if I want now
Review by Ackbob / (Posted on 9/6/2023)This product is extremely efficient and can easily cool down my room even on the coldest setting during hot summer days. The only issue is that the tube does not secure well in the window slider, causing it to fall out and release hot air back into the room. I had to duct tape it in place, which looks unappealing. A longer and more adjustable tube, along with a better locking mechanism, would solve this problem. -
Quality It's boisterous!
Review by Susan. / (Posted on 9/5/2023)The portable ac is effective, but it is very loud. It is noticeably louder than a window AC unit. -
Quality Inefficient power usage, consuming 1.3 KW per use
Review by PQueen / (Posted on 9/4/2023)I am very satisfied with this air conditioner overall. It cools my room very quickly, but it does use a lot of energy. I noticed a significant increase in my power bill after using it. The exhaust tube gets very hot, which I didn't expect, but adding an insulated cover helped to cool it down a bit. The unit cools my 20 x 18 room quickly and effectively, and it was easy to install in my window. It is noisy, but as a night shift worker, I find the sound helps to block out street noise and is actually comforting. Overall, I am happy with this air conditioner. -
Quality Excellent compact device for its function.
Review by NotInUse / (Posted on 9/3/2023)I work from home and my home office gets very hot due to all the computer equipment. In the summer, the office can easily reach 100-110F, which is uncomfortable and dangerous for the computers. I originally tried a Honeywell 8,000BTU AC but it couldn't cool the room. I then used a Wynter 14,000 BTU portable AC, which did the job but was loud and ran constantly, leading to high electric bills. I replaced it with an Impecca 14,000BTU unit, which easily cools the room, is quieter, and has a better hose attachment. The remote control is the only downside as it has a dark screen. I can't speak on its longevity or energy costs yet, but I'm pleased with the purchase and got it at a great price from the Seller. -
Quality Excellent air conditioning unit
Review by Dave / (Posted on 8/29/2023)I got my second portable air conditioner two days ago and it was just as easy to install as my first one. It's working really well and I'm very happy with it. I bought my first one 2 months ago and it's been great. It cools efficiently and economically. If you're in the market for a good portable air conditioner, this is the one to get. It works like a central unit because you can set the temperature and it only comes on when needed. It cycles down to low speed with no compressor when the area has cooled off, and goes back to high speed when the compressor comes on. It's very efficient and you won't regret buying it. -
Quality Screwless,
Review by Elliot / (Posted on 8/29/2023)The unit arrived without the two metal locking screws mentioned in the manual. I had to use lots of tape to improvise, but it still works fine. -
Quality Superb team
Review by Cman / (Posted on 8/24/2023)The unit is very nice and works well, but I believe it requires too much power for a standard outlet. -
Quality Best Quality
Review by ROBBIE / (Posted on 8/21/2023)I had a problem with my guest bedroom being too hot in the summer because it's on the second floor of my condo. I didn't think I'd be able to use the room until winter, but when I saw this item on sale, I decided to try it out. After setting it up and adding insulation, it made a huge difference. I can now use all of my rooms even in the summer. It completely changed everything and I'm very happy with my purchase. -
Quality Chills excellently
Review by linda / (Posted on 8/17/2023)The unit effectively cools a large area but is held back by the heavy hose. It requires additional support to keep it steady and tight in the window. -
Quality Efficient AC oversee the function of the software.
Review by Seller / (Posted on 8/14/2023)The AC unit is powerful but the Eco programming automatically reduces cooling and fan speed when left on full blast for a long time, regardless of the temperature setting. I had to manually adjust the settings and fan speed multiple times. I will record exact times when this occurs and share them. If this is normal, it's not ideal, especially when it's hot outside. -
Quality Proceeding smoothly.
Review by N. Johnson / (Posted on 8/6/2023)After experiencing a heat wave, I bought a 12,000 BTU portable A/C unit that struggled to cool our space. We returned it and upgraded to a 14,000 BTU Impecca unit, which has worked excellently. I highly recommend purchasing an insulated cover for the exhaust hose to prevent the room from heating up. The unit can be a bit noisy, and the hose easily detaches from the unit adapter, but overall, it has been effective. I hope it lasts for many seasons to come. -
Quality Energy consumption remained stable during the trial period.
Review by connie / (Posted on 8/4/2023)I live in an uninsulated home in Los Angeles where the temperatures have been in the high 80s this summer. I have been running the AC for about 8 hours a day and it works well to cool my living room but struggles to cool beyond about 200 sqft. Better insulation might improve the results.
I was surprised to see that my power bill only went up about $10 a month (June/July), so it seems to be energy efficient. The noise level is pretty loud, about as loud as an idling car engine.
Overall, I am satisfied with the purchase, but I may revise my opinion in the fall after testing it in hotter temperatures. -
Quality Joyful family
Review by Grumpy / (Posted on 8/4/2023)This portable ac works extremely well and performs beyond its specifications. It effectively cools a larger space than recommended and shuts off automatically when it reaches the set temperature. I previously had two window AC units that never turned off, but I will be purchasing two more of these portable acs. -
Quality Impecca 14,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner
Review by JoAnne / (Posted on 8/2/2023)I recently had to replace my 8-year-old portable AC and decided to go with the Impecca brand because I have had a positive experience with their toaster oven in the past. So far, it has been a good choice. It arrived and started cooling my 800 sq ft space immediately. I'm hoping it will last for at least 5 years. I also appreciate the option to remove the plastic window blocker when it's not in use. -
Quality Inadequate for 1,000 sq ft cooling requirements
Review by Elemar / (Posted on 7/28/2023)Our bedroom only has a sliding glass door, so we couldn't get a window air conditioner. This unit is supposed to cool 700 sq ft and I think it would do that well. However, I'm trying to stretch it to 1000 sq ft using fans to move cool air and I don't think it's doing that great. Living in a generally cool climate, I bought this unit to take off the edge during our few hot summer nights instead of installing central air. It definitely makes the house more comfortable, so that's a win. It does make a loud *clunk* noise when it kicks on and also dims the lights in my house, so it may not be very energy efficient. However, it has not needed to be drained so far, so not having to deal with that has been great. This unit is good for a bedroom or other type of room you can close off. For 1,000 sq ft it's not enough, but it kind of works and is better than nothing! -
Quality Ideal for a small house or apartment.
Review by Eric. / (Posted on 7/26/2023)I have a smaller 1040 Sq feet ranch home in CT and I decided to get the 14,000 BTU unit. It doesn't cool my entire house but works well for 600-700 Sq feet. I bought it in July when temperatures were in the low to mid 90's and it keeps my living room very cold and comfortable at 62-63 on medium fan. It's about average noise level for a portable a/c and does the job. I keep the window blinds closed on hot days and the doors to other rooms closed to help it cool the living room, hallway, and kitchen area faster. I would suggest going up a room size for better cooling power and efficiency. If you need 10,000 BTU, I would recommend getting the 12,000 BTU unit for comfort. This Black & Decker unit is a good value for the money and mine arrived undamaged in excellent condition. It was obviously handled well by the seller during delivery. -
Quality This is the perfect choice for you!
Review by Stefanie / (Posted on 7/25/2023)I needed a portable AC for my small windows and ended up improvising to make it work. The first unit I bought was supposed to be 8000BTUs but it definitely felt like it was only 5500BTUs. It didn't cool the whole room and I had to constantly empty the water bucket. Then I decided to get the black & decker 14000BTU unit and it works amazing. It cools the whole room and doesn't produce as much water. I recommend going for a higher BTU unit when looking for a portable AC. -
Quality Saved me a fortune!
Review by Seller / (Posted on 7/25/2023)The ice damage to my central AC in the early Spring led to a replacement being needed. The original installers wanted $13,000 to replace it, with financing that would bring the cost to $21,000. Instead, I chose this AC as a replacement. It doesn't need a drain for condensation and does a great job of keeping my space comfortable. I'm happy with my choice and could buy a new one every year for the next fifteen years and still not come close to the cost of repairing or replacing the outside compressor that was damaged by ice. I love that it's on rollers and can easily be rolled into a closet at the end of the season. It's much more convenient than window units and super easy to use. -
Quality Functioning well.
Review by Joey / (Posted on 7/25/2023)I purchased this new ac to replace my old one, which I miss. I measured my room last year and bought a 9,000btu ac for a 450 sq foot room, but my room is actually 600sq feet. This new ac keeps my room nice and cold and the setup was easy. The build quality is good and I have mine draining directly to my sub pump since it's right near it. My only complaint is the vent where the air comes out can only point up at an angle and not straight across. Other than that, the ac is awesome. -
Quality Excellent air conditioning.
Review by Matthew / (Posted on 7/15/2023)I've had this Black + Decker AC unit for about a year and a half. It does a great job of keeping my 130 square foot living room cool, even in 100-degree Fahrenheit weather. It can cool my entire 700 square foot apartment, but it struggles to get separate rooms cold, even with the doors open. It definitely uses a lot of energy, but since power is included in my rent, I haven't noticed a difference in my electric bill. I've found that running it at night and turning it off during the day keeps my apartment cool and saves money. Overall, I'm very happy with this AC unit and have had no issues with it. -
Quality Home sweet home.
Review by Lia / (Posted on 7/13/2023)I was surprised to find that houses in Washington don't typically have AC, so I had to get a portable unit. It does cool the area, but not as well as a regular AC with the same BTUs would. It can only cool one area and the vents can only be pointed straight up or at a 45 angle. I had to buy a standing fan to help push the cool air into the living room. The kitchen does get cooler, but the effect is less noticeable in other areas of the house. It keeps the house about 2 cooler than outside, according to my standing fan's thermostat. I have it running 24/7 and my electric bill only went up a bit. Overall, I'm satisfied with it and would recommend it. It's not too loud either. -
Quality Smooth sailing
Review by bribridot / (Posted on 7/12/2023)I purchased this as a replacement for my broken AC unit. My house is 2200 square feet and I only installed it in the downstairs area. It effectively cools the downstairs, but on the second day, I accidentally knocked the hose off. When I turned the machine back on, it stopped blowing air from the hose. I had to unplug the condensation plugs and restart the machine to make it work again. There wasn't any water flowing out, so I'm not sure why I needed to do that. I don't live in a humid area, so I doubt it needs to be emptied. The only issue so far is that it doesn't cool the whole house, but the downstairs area is very comfortable. -
Quality Gets The Job Done
Review by KM / (Posted on 7/10/2023)The AC functions well, but the window kit is frustrating and prevents me from moving the unit once installed. This makes me hesitant to purchase a second unit due to the flimsy window kit. I don't want to rely on duct tape to secure it every season. -
Quality Timeline for Purchases and Warranty Claims
Review by Michael / (Posted on 7/9/2023)The air conditioning unit was purchased in August 2022 and used successfully to cool a well-insulated space. However, when attempting to power it up in June 2023, it only functioned as a fan. After contacting customer service about a warranty claim, there were delays in receiving a return label for the defective unit. Despite multiple email requests and phone calls, the label was not received until July 14th. The unit was finally returned on July 17th and a new replacement unit was received on August 2nd. -
Quality Reduce your expectations
Review by Patience / (Posted on 7/8/2023)This portable air conditioner works well for its size, but it doesn't cool as quickly or as much as my old window unit. It takes about 15 minutes to cool my 575-ft2 living room, and it doesn't get as cool as I'd like. However, I didn't expect it to perform like a larger unit. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase and it has been a lifesaver this season. One downside is that the air strongly favors the left side, even when directed elsewhere, but it's easy to reposition the portable unit to aim the air where I want it. -
Quality Efficient air conditioning unit
Review by Marie / (Posted on 7/7/2023)The a/c unit is powerful and blows cool air. I appreciate the time setting option which allows me to set it to turn off after a certain time. However, my unit arrived with a small crack and the box was damaged. It runs a bit loudly but I've gotten used to it and it serves as white noise when I'm sleeping. It's also bulky and takes up space in my studio, but I've managed to rearrange things to accommodate it. -
Quality Perfect for a single car garage.
Review by Placeholder / (Posted on 6/24/2023)We have two large Maine Coons who enjoy spending time in our garage all year round. We decided to purchase the Impecca AC to replace our old one before the hot summer months. Living in Texas, it gets extremely hot, but this AC does a great job of keeping our garage cool. We set it up by placing the hose directly under the door with a 12-inch gap, and the drain hose is positioned to drain onto the driveway. Both hoses are shaded, and we kept the hot air hose as short as possible. It works perfectly for us. We make sure to clean the filter every other day.
Our cats love this AC. It's quiet for a portable unit and keeps them cool at around 76 degrees. We would definitely recommend it to anyone with a single car garage and pets they want to keep comfortable. -
Quality Average device
Review by Spillsy68 / (Posted on 6/22/2023)This portable ac works well, but there are a few minor annoyances. The brightness of the display is too intense, so we had to cover it with hockey tape. Also, the vent only points upwards, so we had to put the unit on a table in order to let the water drain out of the window. It would be better if we could redirect the cool air downwards. Other than that, it has been great for the first month of ownership. -
Quality THIS AIR CONDITIONER ROCKS!
Review by Michelle / (Posted on 6/21/2023)I had to share my experience with this portable AC because I was so stressed about choosing the right one. It's a big investment and a pain to have to return something so heavy. But this AC was easy to install and while it's a little noisy, it's not too bad. Once it reaches the set temperature, the fan kicks into a lower speed with less noise. I have a small bedroom but I bought the unit that cools up to 700 sq ft and it works great. I wish I had bought it sooner. Check out my video to hear the sound levels. I hope you love yours as much as I do! -
Quality Freezing temperatures
Review by Boltzy / (Posted on 6/15/2023)I am using this air conditioner in a 20 by 14 room and it is effectively cooling the space. I have not had to empty any water since purchasing it a month ago. The setup was easy and the window vent installation went smoothly. I will provide an update in September after using it for a longer period of time, especially in hotter weather. As of now, I am satisfied with its performance. -
Quality Warning: Understand the purpose before purchasing!
Review by JT / (Posted on 6/12/2023)This portable AC unit is a great product for what it offers. It's important to note that it is not a replacement for a full HVAC system. If your HVAC is struggling and you can't afford to replace it, this unit is a good temporary solution. I've been using it to cool my home during the day and it has made a big difference. It may not cool the entire house to your desired temperature, but it does a good job of venting heat outside and blowing in cool air, especially when used with a floor fan. It's a perfect solution for adding extra cool air to any space. I did have to modify the window vent to fit it, but it wasn't difficult. -
Quality Excellent Cooling Performance, Minor Noise, Lack of Remote Screen Lighting
Review by Chris / (Posted on 6/7/2023)I am really impressed with the Portable AC unit I bought for staying cool during the hot summer months. It does a great job of keeping my 800 sqft apartment and bedroom cool, despite not being in the best spot. The powerful cooling quickly cools the space, but it can be a bit noisy on the highest fan setting. The remote control doesn't have a backlight, and the unit tends to vibrate when placed directly on the carpet. The installation process was a bit challenging, especially with an older sliding window, but some improvisation and tape helped create a decent seal. The exhaust vent also made my blinds sit at a diagonal, and the hose can get very hot. Despite these quirks, the AC unit delivers efficient cooling performance and has made a big difference in staying cool. -
Quality Effective at cooling a room.
Review by Bryan / (Posted on 6/2/2023)I purchased the largest version of this air conditioner and it effectively cools down the room it is in. It is a bit noisy, but I don't mind it. It blows air in different directions and does what it is supposed to do. However, it doesn't work well to cool down other parts of the house. It also does a poor job of sealing the window where it vents, but it still manages to cool down the room. Setting it up for the first time is a bit of a hassle, and it needs to sit upright for at least 24 hours before use. Overall, it does the job and I have no complaints. I recommend it. -
Quality All is well
Review by Clifton. / (Posted on 5/25/2023)We recently purchased this 14,000 BTU stand-alone A/C unit and it has been working really well for our master bedroom upstairs. The high ceilings and warm temperature of the room made it challenging to keep cool with our previous 8,000 BTU window unit. The installation was straightforward, with clear instructions and helpful videos provided by the seller. The unit can go as low as 64 degrees and also has a dehumidifier and fan, although we haven't used those features. The self-evaporating function works well, with minimal water to drain. However, the unit does run a bit loud, so it may be difficult for light sleepers. -
Quality Cubic volume.
Review by Seller / (Posted on 5/20/2023)The rating of air conditioning units by the maximum square footage they cool seems inaccurate. It would be more practical to rate them by the cubic feet of the room, taking into account factors such as ceiling height, skylights, and orientation. Considering these factors would provide a more accurate estimation of the unit's cooling capacity. -
Quality 14000 BTU model works extremely well.
Review by Jeremy / (Posted on 5/20/2023)My wife and I bought two of these for our small farm house since we don't have central heating or air. I'm a big guy and I hate being hot, so I was worried about staying cool. These fans blow ICE cold and keep our bedroom at a comfortable 64 degrees. We live in a dry heat area in Northern California and haven't had any issues. During the day, we use one in the living room and one in the back of the house to keep it cool. We also use fans to help circulate the air. Just make sure to keep the filters clean. -
Quality Somewhat loud, but effective ...
Review by Mountford / (Posted on 5/11/2023)I bought this unit after enduring two record-setting hot summers in the Pacific Northwest. Even though we don't get as hot as other parts of the country, 90F can still be brutal if you're not used to it. The 14,000 BTU model I purchased is working great in my 2 bedroom apartment, keeping me comfortable with the thermostat set to 76F. It is a bit noisy, but I've gotten used to it and it's better than suffering through extreme heat. It was also easy to install. Only time will tell if it lasts, but for now I'm happy with my investment. -
Quality Savior at hand!
Review by Kelly / (Posted on 4/20/2023)I recently purchased a portable air conditioner just in time for two hot days. Upstairs is typically hotter than downstairs, and my son's room is especially warm, with a 3-4 degree difference. Our upstairs AC unit is currently not working, so it's very hot up there.
I am really impressed with this unit. Yesterday, the outside temperature reached 88 degrees, but my son's room stayed at 76 with the help of the portable air conditioner. Today, it's 89/90 degrees outside, and I have set the temperature down to 75. The portable air conditioner is also helping to cool down the hallway area as I leave my son's bedroom door open to let some of the cold air out into the hallway.
I have read complaints about how loud it is, but honestly, it's not any louder than your average portable fan, and it just provides a good white-noise. It doesn't bother us at all.
I hope that this continues to work well in the next several summers. -
Quality 2 years later and still going strong!
Review by Jen / (Posted on 2/25/2023)We purchased this air conditioning unit when a heat wave was forecasted for our usually mild area. It really helped us survive. Our house has vaulted ceilings, but it continuously pumped out cold air, making at least one room breathable.
We learned that the filter can get noisy when it needs cleaning, so it's important to clean it regularly. We also discovered that our living room outlet caused the breaker to flip, so we had to run the plug outside to a different outlet on its own breaker. The exhaust needs the door to be open, so it wasn't a major issue.
The only downside is that we wish we could buy window panels separately. The unit came with extensions for a tall window, but we're using a sliding glass door. Another panel would have reached the top of our door, but we don't want to buy an entire kit for just one panel. So we're using cardboard, but it's not ideal. This issue doesn't affect the AC's performance, but it's frustrating to have a gap at the top. -
Quality Efficient room cooling
Review by Luis / (Posted on 9/19/2022)The item arrived earlier than expected and came with everything needed for installation. The only negatives I can find are that the remote didn't come with batteries, the air cannot be aimed up/down, and I'm unsure if it can cool a 700 Sq Ft room. However, it does keep my bedroom cool and I am satisfied with the product overall. -
Quality Love, but minus 3 things
Review by Kirk / (Posted on 9/15/2022)This unit has made a big difference in my home. Even in 100-degree weather, my swamp cooler on the roof couldn't keep the house below 80 degrees. Now, with just one of these units, my whole house is comfortable. I only need to use the swamp cooler at night. However, there are a few things I don't like. The exhaust hose falls off easily and the remote control isn't very user-friendly. Also, the air flow adjustment feature is useless. Overall, I'm happy with the unit despite these issues. -
Quality Chills out the cosmos but never freezes over
Review by Annie / (Posted on 9/5/2022)My apartment is 800 SF total, with a living room of 500 SF. Despite being rated to cool 1000 square feet, the AC only cools my apartment to 74 degrees no matter the setting. I left it on from 8am when it was 71 degrees, but it didn't cool enough, even with shades drawn. I have a double coated dog and needed an AC for hot and humid days. It does okay, but for $400+, I expected it to cool better. It does make my apartment more comfortable during heat waves, but I'm disappointed it doesn't cool as much as expected for its size. -
Quality Significant Impact of this portable ac in my 700 sq ft Apartment
Review by Rae / (Posted on 8/28/2022)I purchased this air conditioner for my apartment because it only had central heating and no cooling. I placed it in my bedroom, connected to a window near the doorway.
The air conditioner does a great job of keeping the room cold. During the day, I leave the bedroom door open, and it helps bring the apartment temperature down from the 80s to the mid 70s. It struggles to cool the entire apartment, but I understand the limitations of window units. When I get hot while working in the kitchen, I stand in front of it and the cool air it blasts out is very effective. The tube out the window gets warm. The ventilation in my apartment was so poor that I had to keep the windows open even when it was 79 degrees F outside, resulting in an indoor temperature of 85 F. Going from that to the mid to low 70s, and consistently 71F in the bedroom when the door is closed, is much better performance than I expected for the price.
It's easy to drain the water tank when it's full, and the machine is low maintenance. It does make noise, but it's quieter than a box fan and doesn't have any annoying squeaks.
I'm glad I bought this unit instead of a slightly cheaper window unit that would drip water on the sidewalk. -
Quality Advantages and Disadvantages
Review by Louis / (Posted on 8/20/2022)If I could go back, I would have purchased a window air conditioner for my 700 sq ft living room. I initially avoided this option because I didn't want to block the window. After struggling with the instructions, I turned to a YouTube video for help. I learned to cut the bottom of the box to remove the air conditioner and then trimmed the plastic insert with a hacksaw. I had to buy insulation tape as it wasn't included. Connecting the hose to the insert was difficult due to the height of the window, and it kept popping out. I may need duct tape to secure it. While the air conditioner produces cool air, it doesn't effectively cool the room as I had hoped. -
Quality Efficient, a bit loud.
Review by Blaze / (Posted on 8/17/2022)The unit is easy to use and set up. The foam window tape provided may be unnecessary as the vent air exits with enough force to prevent waste heat from entering the house. However, on taller windows that slide horizontally, set up might be challenging as the window block may not be tall enough. For narrow vertical sliding windows, the block with the oval vent cutout is too short to cover the distance, but adding an insert/extender piece makes the setup too long. Adding a simple piece of cardboard to fill the gap works well. We live in CA where it is not excessively hot or humid, and running it in August for a few hours produces minimal drain water. The unit is a bit heavy to lift when needing to move it up or down stairs. In use, the 14k btu unit seems to draw a bit below about a half kw per hour. Overall, it is well constructed, works well, and I am very happy with it. -
Quality An Exceptional Experience
Review by Fibby / (Posted on 7/19/2022)I've been using this AC unit for a couple of years now and overall, it has been a lifesaver since my room doesn't have AC. It does a good job of keeping my room cool and the wireless remote is convenient. However, I have noticed that it doesn't always maintain the temperature I set and the remote could be improved with a backlit screen and better labeling on the buttons. Despite that, it has been reliable and has kept my room cool during hot weather. If you need a decent air conditioner for your room, give this one a try. -
Quality Great Product Poor Soundproofing Tape
Review by William / (Posted on 7/8/2022)The unit works fine and has decent cooling and noise levels. However, the hook up to the window could be more secure and the insulation tape is terrible - it sticks to everything and is difficult to remove. The hose connection to the window outlet is also insecure and easily pops off. Overall, the unit functions well but the accessories are abysmal. -
Quality Impecca 14K BTU Portable Air Conditioner - A Game-Changer for Keeping Us Cool!
Review by Angela / (Posted on 6/28/2022)We purchased this air conditioner for our trip to the family's small lakehouse where the central a/c wasn't working. It was set up in the living area and kept it plus one bedroom nicely cool at night. During the hotter daytime, it was used only to cool the living area and it was comfortable, not cold. The temperatures outside were in the mid 80s to low 90s while we were there. The two rooms are about 450 SF and the living area around 300 SF.
We tried the remote but couldn't get it to work and didn't spend any time figuring it out so I can't comment on how it works.
Energy efficiency wasn't an issue as it was only used for a week.
The unit makes noise but it's not too loud. It's actually a nice white noise. We had it right in front of the TV and there was no problem hearing the dialogue.
When it was packed up to take home, there was a little bit of water from the condensation. Nothing significant. We drained it and packed it up. -
Quality Outstanding Air Conditioning
Review by Valid Opinion / (Posted on 6/27/2022)I have had this A/C unit for 2 years and it works well, although it is not as effective as a central A/C. The 14,000 btu unit is the noisiest of the 4 units I own, with a rattle/cricket sound after running for a while. The others are quiet. The vent tubing gets hot and can put heat back into the room. Installing the A/C in a sliding or crank window is easy, and I found a solution for my crank window using styrofoam and cardboard. Overall, I am satisfied with the A/C units. -
Quality Grateful thoughts:
Review by OG_Snapper72 / (Posted on 6/16/2022)We purchased this air conditioning unit in June 2020, even though we weren't planning to buy one at the time. We took advantage of the seller's no-cost monthly payments, which made the purchase easier. Since buying it, the price has risen by about 30%. It replaced our old DeLonghi unit, which lasted until the end of the last season. We love that there's no bucket to empty and the dehumidifier function. The air conditioner cools the air quickly and is not overly loud. The remote and auto fan feature are also appreciated. We initially thought the Air Swing feature was useless, but we have since found it to be handy for spreading the cool air around and addressing hot spots in our older, less insulated house. Overall, we are impressed with the unit and appreciate its efficiency. It has been a blessing, especially with the heat we've been experiencing. If you're in the market for a reliable air conditioning unit, this one is definitely worth considering. -
Quality Feels Impecca!
Review by M Lazy / (Posted on 6/8/2022)This product has been a great addition to my home. It provides a strong and cold air flow, and also works as an air purifier. However, there are a few things to keep in mind. Water can accumulate at the bottom and the unit will automatically turn off, so it's important to keep an eye on it. The filter needs to be cleaned every two weeks. Despite these maintenance tasks, it fits nicely in my son's room and effectively cools all three bedrooms as long as we keep the doors open and use an extra fan to circulate the cold air. It has made a noticeable difference in the temperature of our home, even on hot days. The only issue I encountered was that the product arrived damaged, but I was able to make some adjustments to make it work properly. Overall, I'm happy with this product and will update with more feedback after using it for a few weeks. -
Quality Good to have a backup
Review by Russell / (Posted on 5/26/2022)This portable ac is set up in my garage to keep me comfortable on hot days while I work. I installed a 6 exhaust vent through the wall, larger than a dryer vent to allow for easier air flow. The unit has a gravity damper that closes when it's off and it works great, although it is loud due to the amount of air it moves. The temperature sensor is fairly accurate and the modulating air veins evenly cover the area. The condensate evaporates so there's no need to worry about draining water. Living in a high humidity area near the ocean, I haven't had any issues with condensate. I also bought this for temporary cooling in case my main AC quits, and it's worked well for that purpose. The only downside is the way these units are rated, with the lower number indicating the actual capacity. I've purchased several different brands for temporary spot cooling for our customers and treat them almost as disposable. This Impecca unit is just as good as the others and priced similarly. -
Quality Underwhelming Results From My Summer portable ac
Review by Greg / (Posted on 8/7/2021)I live in the Bay area of California and my apartment gets unbearably hot in the summer. After suffering through the heat last year, I bought an AC unit in preparation for this summer. So far, the weather has been cooler, but the AC unit has worked well on the hotter days. My apartment is small, and the unit is able to keep the indoor temperature between 75-78 degrees when it's in the 80s outside. It's a bit loud for my liking, but the remote control is convenient and it starts cooling the room quickly. I'm not sure how well it would work in temperatures in the 90s or 100s, but it's definitely better than no AC at all. -
Quality Compact unit for a small apartment/mid sized bedroom.
Review by Jacob / (Posted on 7/14/2021)This air conditioner is a great option, particularly for a portable unit. It is powerful enough to keep a 1200 sq ft room cool even in 117-degree weather. The unit is sturdy and reliable, running non-stop for 5-6 months without any issues. It is also easy to move and set up in different rooms or windows.
However, it is quite heavy and the remote does not have a backlight. Additionally, it can be slightly noisy compared to window-mounted units and requires regular cleaning to maintain performance.
Overall, this is a very powerful and effective unit, especially during extreme temperatures. It is one of the best portable AC units I have owned and I highly recommend it. -
Quality Mighty Engine That Can.
Review by Dave / (Posted on 6/18/2021)We live in a two-bedroom apartment in Southern California built in the mid-20th century. The insulation and windows are outdated, but we managed with a small in-wall A/C unit until 2021 when we needed a more efficient option for working from home. Our landlord provided an Impecca unit, which was easy to set up and has an internal drip pan. It's not very loud and can be controlled with a remote. Despite a recent heatwave, it used less electricity than our previous fans. -
Quality Incredible!
Review by J-Meow / (Posted on 4/30/2021)This portable air conditioner is amazing for cooling down my backyard office/shed in Arizona. Despite the need to vent it with a hose, it pushes out seriously cold air and keeps my space consistently cool. Even in a hot state like AZ, I never have to set it below 76 degrees to feel comfortable. It can be a little noisy, but I don't mind as long as I'm not hot. After over a year of use, it's still working perfectly. I highly recommend it for anyone in a similar situation. -
Quality Everything is going well!
Review by Pigaman / (Posted on 4/28/2021)After conducting extensive research, I purchased this unit and have been extremely satisfied with its performance. It's currently installed in my enclosed lanai in South Florida, where it's providing me with much-needed cooling. Despite the high speed producing some noise, it decreases as the room cools. The unit is being pushed to its limits in a large area with high ceilings, but it still manages to keep the space reasonably comfortable.
I've found that the recycled moisture from the unit doesn't require frequent emptying, as only a modest amount of water is drained after running it for several days. Additionally, I haven't seen a significant increase in daily electrical use, which I can monitor regularly.
The window exhaust panel also worked out well. I had to extend the top of the panel by about 8 inches and had a piece of outside plywood cut to fit it at a local hardware store. The cost was minimal, and I even have some leftover.
Overall, I am very pleased with this unit and will provide an update on its performance in the future. -
Quality Suitable for both apartments and offices.
Review by Scott / (Posted on 4/4/2021)I have a 720 sq ft apartment, but the actual living spaces are a bit smaller. The rating for the unit is supposed to be up to 500 sq ft, but most at my complex are actually between 500-700 sq ft. I initially planned to try this unit out in the main living area, dining, and kitchen, and then add a smaller unit to the main bedroom. It's currently 78-80F outside, and humid due to being in south Texas. I allowed the unit to sit upright for 2 days, and it set up easily in my apartment window. Once I turned it on, the air became very cold in a short amount of time, cooling the apartment down from 78 to 72 within 30 minutes. My apartment has central air, but it has never worked well. This unit blows much colder air and works much faster. I plan to get the smaller unit for my bedroom, even though it may be too powerful due to its insulation. -
Quality Operates smoothly
Review by User007 / (Posted on 12/29/2020)I have been using this air conditioning unit to cool both my living room and bedroom before bedtime. It effectively reduces the temperature relatively quickly. However, there are some areas for improvement. The exhaust tube should connect higher up on the unit to cover more horizontal distance. Additionally, the provided window closing rectangles do not connect together securely, and the tube gets very hot during use. Connecting the tube to the connector is also difficult. Overall, while the unit effectively cools the room, there are several issues that could be improved. -
Quality Inaccurate Portrayal of Portable AC
Review by Seller / (Posted on 11/8/2020)The air conditioner is loud and works as expected. It lacks a place to store the remote, and there were delivery issues with UPS. Overall, it's a decent machine for the price, but the collapsible tube can be difficult to set up. Use needle nose pliers to gently pull the tube into the plastic guide in the window. Be careful not to poke any holes in the tube during this process. -
Quality Mediocre window exhaust for a great air conditioner
Review by RobertoC / (Posted on 7/24/2020)The air conditioning unit effectively cools my small apartment. I often leave the bedroom door open and it cools most of the space, but close it on hot days to avoid overworking the unit. The lack of a power saving mode means the fan runs continuously, which may be a drawback for those who prefer quieter units. However, the filter is easy to clean and the remote is user-friendly. My only issue is with the window exhaust kit, as the installation instructions were unclear and the hose is heavy and inflexible, causing gaps in the connection. Despite this, the air conditioner performs well and I give it four stars. -
Quality Quickly cools the bedroom!
Review by Mary / (Posted on 7/2/2020)This air conditioner has a modern look and fits perfectly in the corner of the room. It was initially borrowed by my sons for their apartment before I had a chance to use it. They used a couple of box fans with it to keep the great room cool and comfortable, and it also helped to cool the first bedroom. Although it's not designed for a whole apartment, it performed well when additional fans were used. I have it back now and use it in my bedroom at night. Without the air conditioner, the room temperature is around 82-84F on a 90F day, but within 30 minutes of using the air conditioner, it can cool down to 68F if needed. It switches on and off to maintain the desired temperature. I haven't received a bill yet for nighttime usage, but my sons said it increased their electric bill by about $60 when running it continuously. The only downside is that the venting hose is difficult to attach and stay in place. We've had to tape the hose to the window kit, which is included with the unit. I also want to get additional window kits so I can use the air conditioner in different rooms, as it is portable and on wheels. I'm still trying to find out where to obtain these. Overall, I'm happy with this unit and would recommend it to others. -
Quality Worth the investment.
Review by Amy / (Posted on 6/13/2020)After reading both positive and negative reviews, I decided to purchase two of these Impecca units to cool our rented house after the old central A/C died. The units arrived in heavy shipping packages and the instructions were clear about letting the unit sit upright for 24 hours before turning it on. I had to get creative with the window mounting due to our old crank windows, but once the units were up and running, they worked wonderfully. The air is ice cold, and the power bill has even dropped. I don't mind the noise level and the remote works well. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and don't understand the negative reviews. This unit does exactly what it's supposed to do. -
Quality Enjoy this portable ac
Review by Eden / (Posted on 9/4/2019)I was disappointed with the way this item was shipped, but once I set it up and turned it on, I was really happy with its performance. It's much quieter than I expected and seems worth the high price. However, I'm not satisfied with how often it seems to slow down and trigger the self-diagnosis system for frost protection. I prefer my room to be very cold and use the AC constantly, but it doesn't seem to handle that well. My previous, cheaper AC ran consistently without any issues, and I was hoping for the same with this one, given the cost. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to meet my expectations in that regard. -
Quality Beat the Texas heat with this!
Review by Kari / (Posted on 7/16/2019)I purchased this portable air conditioning unit back in February and kept it stored until April without opening it. After my old portable A/C died last summer, I was relieved to have this one. I've endured many Texas summers without A/C, so I'm willing to do whatever it takes to have it.
For first-time buyers, it's important to know that portable A/C units like this require regular maintenance. As long as you take good care of it, it's worth the investment. This model cools well as long as the filters are kept clean, although accessing them can be a bit of a hassle.
I've had to manually drain the unit a few times, even though I live in a dry area with little humidity. It's crucial to keep the room sealed off while the A/C is running to ensure it's running efficiently.
The remote is convenient but doesn't always stay synced with the unit. Some parts, like the back plate and exhaust vent, are difficult to put back on. Additionally, I'm not sure what the air swing function is supposed to do.
Overall, I am satisfied with this A/C unit despite these issues, and I find them manageable. -
Quality portable ac: 14,000 BTU requires 20 AMP Circuit.
Review by Jeremy / (Posted on 9/13/2018)I purchased the 14,000 BTU air conditioner and found that it cools very effectively. However, I had trouble running it on a single 15 amp circuit, even when it was the only thing plugged in. I learned that the wire gauge for a 15 amp circuit is not thick enough to handle the power draw of the AC, and it could cause a fire. I ended up hiring an electrician to install a dedicated 20 amp circuit, which solved the problem. I also want to caution against using an extension cord on a 20 amp circuit, as it can overheat and cause the AC to malfunction. I ultimately paid for the installation of two 20 amp circuits, and the AC now works perfectly in a large room with other high power requirements. Overall, I am very happy with the performance of the AC unit. -
Quality Somewhat successful, yet slightly inconsistent
Review by Seraphima / (Posted on 8/12/2018)I purchased this air conditioning unit in the Pacific Northwest at the end of last summer (2017). The last four summers in the area have been very hot, with a high number of hot days and high temperatures. Most apartments in the area do not have built-in A/C, as it is not typically needed, but I decided to get a larger unit for my living room/kitchen open area due to the extremely hot weather. In 2018, the unit started showing an LT error frequently, causing it to stop cooling for a few minutes before kicking back on. I'm concerned about its longevity and functionality, even though it's not used constantly. The unit is likely being used in a space that exceeds its recommended square footage, but it still does a decent job of keeping the area cool. I realized that using the remote and console to turn the unit on and off can confuse it, and after making sure to use the same source to do so, it seemed to improve for a couple of days before reverting back to its previous issues. Overall, the unit is still powerful and doing an okay job, but the frequent errors are impacting its ability to keep the room cool. -
Quality Should have bought a real window unit
Review by Amy / (Posted on 8/7/2018)The assembly of the unit was a bit frustrating, and I had some issues with the exhaust hoses and the oval shaped connector to the window plate. However, I was able to fix the latter issue with foil tape.
I purchased this unit to cool my kitchen and living room until I could get my central air fixed. Despite needing 13.5k BTU, the unit was not as effective as I had hoped. I found that the air movement and cooling capabilities were not as strong as my window unit, and I was not impressed with the dehumidifier mode. However, the fan mode worked well and the noise level was tolerable.
In terms of features, I would have liked a better programmable mode, an Eco mode, and a more adjustable grill design. Additionally, I believe the price of the unit is a bit high for its performance.
Overall, I would not purchase this unit again for its current purpose, but it may work adequately for a more permanent job. I would caution against buying it at its current price. -
Quality Summary: Efficient room cooling; installation requires duct tape and weather stripping
Review by happykins / (Posted on 7/17/2018)I've been using this air conditioner for 2 days and it definitely cools the room quickly. I'm using it in a dining room addition to my home that gets very hot and doesn't have its own HVAC vent. It's a bit loud, but that's expected.
My main criticisms are:
- The hose vent attachment to the back of the AC does not secure well and falls off easily, making it difficult to put the other end in the window.
- The weather stripping it comes with is too short and not the right size for the window adapter.
- It doesn't report the current temperature.
- I wish there was a way for it to turn on automatically when the ambient temperature reaches a certain point.
I haven't had to drain it yet, and I don't anticipate needing to do so often because I live in a dry heat area. I'll update my review at the end of summer. -
Quality Life-saving
Review by Just Passing Through / (Posted on 6/4/2018)Last summer, I purchased this portable AC unit when my central AC broke and I didn't want to immediately spend the money to replace it. It was a bit bulky and heavy when it arrived, but it was easy to set up and didn't require any special tools. It cools the immediate area well, reduces humidity, and has kept multiple rooms comfortable. I didn't need to empty the drip tray, and it even worked well in cold weather without needing to be removed. The remote control isn't necessary for me, and the unit sometimes shuts off when it ices over but restarts on its own after a few minutes. It's a bit loud, but I got used to the sound quickly. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase and it has saved me a lot of money by not having to immediately replace my central AC. -
Quality Hands-free and low-maintenance unit
Review by BuyerOfThings / (Posted on 5/30/2018)This portable AC unit arrived in a sturdy retail box and had to be assembled with some difficulty. The window vent blocking plate required cutting and securing, and the remote and interface were not user-friendly. However, the unit was able to keep a large attic bedroom cool, and the AirSwing feature was helpful. The unit did have some issues with water accumulation and power spikes, but overall it continued to perform well. -
Quality 2-month evaluation
Review by Chet / (Posted on 6/7/2017)After using this product for two months, I have some feedback to share.
1) This AC is small for a 14,000 BTU, which makes it great for saving space.
2) The sliding window panels used to connect to the attachment are not sturdy enough and tend to bend when trying to connect. I recommend making these panels heavier.
3) The unit blows very cold air, but the fans are sensitive to obstruction of air through the rear vent. It is important to keep the screen very clean at all times in order to prevent fan malfunction.
4) The remote works well and can pick up the signal without needing to be directly facing it.
5) The unit has strong fans and can cool a 400 sq ft space from 80 degrees to 67 degrees in a half hour. It runs through the night and has good air flow.
6) This AC requires regular cleaning and maintenance for optimal performance, but it is worth it for its cooling power on a hot day. -
Quality The heat assassin
Review by Chris / (Posted on 5/18/2017)I purchased this air conditioner for a room that is larger than the recommended size, but I needed it to combat the hot weather and the heat produced by my computer and monitors. The unit cools the room quickly when the outside temperature is around 70 degrees, but it takes longer when it's 80 degrees outside. It is easy to use and built well, but it is noisy, especially when the compressor kicks on. However, I don't mind the noise when I sleep. The unit didn't significantly increase my electric bill and it keeps the room cold, even with electronic devices running. The window kit could be improved, as it doesn't seal tightly. Overall, I am happy with this unit as it allows me to sleep better and keeps the room cool. If anyone has questions or wants to see more, I am willing to help.
