Quality Impecca reigns supreme.
Review by Video / (Posted on 1/6/2024)This AC heater is great in every way. It's extremely energy efficient and has significantly reduced my electric bill to $200 to $300 a month in the summer. Additionally, I use it for heat in the winter and my electric bill is always less than $100 a month. -
Quality Chilled us out
Review by Lori / (Posted on 11/23/2023)The installation of this product was a breeze and it effectively kept us cool. I utilized the app to cool the room in advance of returning home, and I found it very user-friendly. -
Quality Inadequate heat pump heating, excellent cooling
Review by Seller / (Posted on 10/31/2023)This unit effectively cooled my 300 square foot high ceiling bedroom during the summer and has a sleek and relatively quiet design. However, I was disappointed to discover that the heating function only works above an outdoor temperature of 41 degrees, which was not adequately communicated in the product information. This limitation made the heating function essentially useless in my frosty morning climate. -
Quality Nearby to my desk chair, silence prevails
Review by Phil / (Posted on 10/7/2023)This unit is both efficient for heating and cooling. Despite being bothered and distracted by noise, the background noise is actually not noticeable when I listen carefully. Even when using Skype and Teams near the unit, no one has complained about noise, which is a big improvement from my previous unit. The wheels are of good quality and the overall performance is much better than my old two hose unit. -
Quality Exceptional customer service
Review by Joe / (Posted on 9/26/2023)The unit stopped working after 4 months of exposure to desert heat. However, I was very satisfied with the excellent customer service provided to help me with the situation. -
Quality It's functioning perfectly.
Review by Dana / (Posted on 9/15/2023)I'll have to wait and see how well this portable ac holds up in the winter, but it definitely kept me cool all summer. I'm confident it will work just as well for heating, based on its performance so far. I'll update my review once I've tested it in the colder weather. -
Quality Chilling
Review by thomas / (Posted on 9/14/2023)This unit is great and can handle any weather. I will definitely purchase another one. -
Quality Should have done it earlier
Review by Craig / (Posted on 9/8/2023)The energy efficiency of the unit is not something I can speak to, but I can say that I really enjoy coming to bed at night and finding my room much cooler than the rest of my house. I used to have a fan on all night, so the noise of the unit doesn't bother me. It's actually quieter than my fan. -
Quality Unitary system vs conventional air conditioning
Review by Adam / (Posted on 9/7/2023)I purchased this unit for both heating and cooling purposes. I have been monitoring its energy consumption and have found that it uses half the energy of a regular AC unit. It is extremely quiet and cools the room quickly. The heat function works well during the shoulder seasons, but I have not yet tested it in the winter. The manufacturer's specifications indicate that it can operate down to 30 degrees Fahrenheit. So far, I am very satisfied with this unit as it maintains the set temperature consistently. -
Quality portable ac: doesn't suit all windows.
Review by Perdue / (Posted on 8/24/2023)This unit is effective and quiet, especially on the low fan setting. However, it doesn't fit well in sliding windows and the extra adapter provided for this type of window is bulky and made of brittle plastic. It doesn't fit snugly or create an airtight seal. Additionally, the hose is short and stiff, making it difficult to position the unit properly in some windows. Despite these challenges, once the unit is in place it works well as a portable A/C unit. -
Quality Can be utilized for an awning window.
Review by John / (Posted on 8/23/2023)This portable ac is both quiet and efficient while also being stylish. Additionally, it functions as a heat pump, providing added warmth during cooler months. -
Quality Pleasant and refreshing
Review by Nikki / (Posted on 8/18/2023)This keeps my living room nice and cool. I love it. -
Quality Unit is very serene
Review by Brian / (Posted on 8/16/2023)We are really pleased with how quiet the air-conditioner is and its ability to distribute cool air to a greater distance, reaching about 2 rooms. It also doesn't seem to consume a lot of power, which is a positive. If it can save us 40% on our electricity bill, then it will be a worthwhile investment. -
Quality Portable air conditioning unit.
Review by Randy / (Posted on 8/7/2023)The setup was simple and I used my sliding glass door instead of a window. I live in an upstairs apartment, but with some adjustments, I was able to make it work. I'm a carpenter, so I'm pretty handy with that kind of stuff. It works well for around 350 ft, but I had to close off the bedroom door because it couldn't accommodate the 500 ft as advertised. It didn't come with a cord roll up on the side as stated, but other than that, I'm happy with its performance since I've had it. I originally bought it for my camper for full-time RVing, but I'm currently trying it out in my 500 ft apartment. -
Quality Hose should be extended, that should be available
Review by Placeholder / (Posted on 8/7/2023)The air conditioner had to be placed on a table in order to reach the window with the duct. It would be better if the expandable hose was longer. Other than that, it works well. If the hose was redesigned, it would deserve a 5-star rating. -
Quality Cool As Ice
Review by Renee / (Posted on 8/7/2023)This AC unit has been a great addition to my home. My unfinished basement used to get too warm in the summer and too cold in the winter, but the Impecca has provided a cost-effective solution. While the included instructions were not sufficient for me, I was able to install the window bracket with the help of an online tutorial from the company. I also had to hire an electrician to install a separate circuit/outlet, which was an additional cost. However, now I have a conditioned space that is usable and comfortable. -
Quality I'm a fan!
Review by Seller / (Posted on 8/5/2023)The setup was simple, but the window kit doesn't stay secured. -
Quality A Summer Lifesaver
Review by Hannah / (Posted on 7/20/2023)I really love this AC. It does a great job of cooling my one-bedroom apartment. If you maintain it well, it will last a long time. -
Quality started leaking water
Review by Wilk / (Posted on 7/18/2023)My portable AC unit started leaking water from the bottom when in cool mode, and I discovered that the issue was a broken hose tray inside. It seems to break when the top hose connection is manipulated. The manual also failed to mention that the top hose needs to drain in cool mode, causing the top tray to fill with water. I was able to fix the problem by applying silicone and using tie wraps to hold it in place. -
Quality Top rated portable air conditioner.
Review by A / (Posted on 7/7/2023)The portable AC unit I'm using has been great at cooling my 700 sqft apartment. It's able to bring the temperature down to the low 70s and is very quiet. I had previously used a Black and Decker 12000 BTU unit which was much louder and didn't cool the room as effectively. The new unit occasionally has a loud low pitched hum, likely caused by the compressor or hose resonance, but it goes away after a few seconds. Overall, I'm pleased with its performance and especially appreciate the smart app integrations. I believe it's the best unit available without upgrading to a window unit or a mini split. -
Quality You reap what you sow.
Review by jenny / (Posted on 7/7/2023)The product was handled roughly and one of the casters was broken, likely from being dropped. Other than that, it works amazingly well. The app control is also great, allowing you to control it from anywhere in the world as long as you're connected to the internet. -
Quality Strength and serenity
Review by Keith / (Posted on 7/7/2023)I used to have a black and decker single hose unit, which was loud and never shut off on hot days. This new unit is amazing, it cools the room quickly, is much quieter, and has a dual hose design which is great if you understand how air conditioners work. The only downside is that the unit is larger and needs to be in front of the window, but that's to be expected. It's a bit pricey, but I highly recommend it. -
Quality Tranquil and amazing
Review by David / (Posted on 7/7/2023)This is the best portable air conditioner we've ever had. We own five in total, but this is the only dual hose one. It's quiet and cools our 400 square-foot room in less than an hour. It's much easier to install compared to our old window air conditioner. It's definitely worth the money in my opinion. -
Quality Frustrating to install - hose replacement is a pain.
Review by Customer / (Posted on 7/4/2023)I bought this Impecca air conditioner to replace my previous Black and Decker ones, which for some reason are rated higher. The design of the Black and Decker air conditioners pulls in air from outside the room, making them struggle to cool hot, humid air from the rest of the house. In New York, the Black and Decker ones stop working in June once it gets hot and humid. I have a 12,600 BTU Black and Decker air conditioner that should work for a 400+ square foot room, but it can't even cool a 200 square foot bedroom. The Impecca air conditioner is much better because it circulates the air inside the room, and cools the room effectively. One downside is that the hose/window plate interface is annoying to connect, but other than that, it works great. -
Quality First Floor Cooling System
Review by JR / (Posted on 7/4/2023)We purchased this unit for our townhome because we are unable to use our central air and heating system due to my daughter and I having seasonal asthma. Despite having the vents cleaned by Bob the builder, it did not improve the situation. However, this A/C & Heat unit is fantastic. It effectively cools the entire lower level of my townhome, even when the temperature reaches the 90's. We are looking forward to seeing how well the heater works this winter. My husband and I are planning to buy two more units soon. In my opinion, if you enjoy a cool house like what a central A/C can provide, then I highly recommend purchasing this 12,600 BTU with heat unit. You won't be disappointed. -
Quality Cooling Marvelous
Review by J. Kaulitzke / (Posted on 6/28/2023)I used to struggle to keep my town house cool in the summer because of the big skylight, French doors, and lack of central air. I tried other air conditioner brands, but they were all loud, energy-consuming, and ineffective at cooling my place. The Honeywell even burnt out. However, the Impecca is a game changer. It keeps my house cool even on the hottest days and is much quieter than other brands. It also uses less energy, making my summer energy bills lower than ever. Cleaning the filters is a breeze, and the only downside is the short hose limiting placement options. But overall, it's the best air conditioner I've ever had. -
Quality Rapid Air Cooling portable ac
Review by Jason / (Posted on 6/26/2023)This product effectively cools a large space in a short amount of time, reducing the temperature in my room by 5 degrees in just 30 minutes. It operates quietly and I am satisfied with my purchase. -
Quality Set it and leave it
Review by David / (Posted on 6/15/2023)This is my fourth portable AC/heater, and the most expensive, but also the best. It runs smoothly day and night, maintaining my desired temperature with minimal adjustments. The hose-in-hose design is a bit rigid, but it still holds up well. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase. -
Quality So Peaceful, performs Excellent!!
Review by Tom / (Posted on 6/11/2023)I am grateful for how quiet and efficient this product is, and it works great. -
Quality 30-40% More Energy Efficient Than Comparable Units
Review by Gregory / (Posted on 6/4/2023)This unit is used in a large bedroom bath area and is impressive because it cycles the compressor lower and provides continuous cool. After two months, it has proven to be very efficient in saving energy. It was installed in a 400 sq ft master bedroom with tall ceilings and even kept the occupants comfortable in 110 degree temperatures when the main air system broke. As a result, utility bills have gone down. It's truly amazing. -
Quality AC works great, but not on large windows.
Review by Filipe / (Posted on 5/30/2023)I finally got my Great AC to work in my apartment after trying various installation methods and accessories from the seller. I still wish Impecca would offer more options though. The insulation and cutting the packaging made a big difference, now I just need to finish the inside. My wife designed the set up and we're loving it. Can't wait to get the seller's product soon! -
Quality Top Choice Portable Air Conditioner with Small Flaws
Review by SirEpicIndividual / (Posted on 5/29/2023)The summers in Las Vegas can be really tough, especially when it comes to getting a good night's sleep without spending a fortune on energy bills. That's why I invested in this unit, and it has been a game changer for me. It costs about $35 a month to run the AC every night, and it has helped me sleep better than ever before. The machine is a bit complicated, and some reviews mention receiving damaged units, but with careful handling and some knowledge, it can be a lifesaver.
Positives of the unit include its ability to cool or warm a room quickly, its energy efficiency, and its quiet operation. It also has an app that allows for remote control and a remote with a temperature at remote feature. The design is sleek and relatively easy to maintain. However, the unit is very heavy and can be damaged in shipping. It also has multiple draining points and a weak window fastening kit. But overall, it's been a great investment for me. -
Quality Fantastic air conditioning unit
Review by Linda / (Posted on 5/26/2023)The delivery was quick, the setup was easy, and it does a great job of keeping my 33ft 5th wheel from 2000 very comfortable. I am very satisfied with it. -
Quality AC has some nice features but has fundamental flaws
Review by Arty / (Posted on 5/24/2023)The air conditioner has great potential but falls short in a few areas. The exhaust hose is cumbersome and not compatible with standard window venting. The clips that attach to the window adapter are not secure. The thermostat is very inaccurate, often showing a different temperature than what the room actually is. Additionally, there are issues with the Wifi and remote, making it difficult to set and maintain the desired temperature. Despite these challenges, the unit is capable of effectively cooling a room and is energy efficient. It's just unfortunate that it's such a struggle to get the temperature right. -
Quality Operates smoothly
Review by Pickles / (Posted on 5/22/2023)Our house is a little over 1ksqft, but this unit and a few fans are enough to keep the whole house cool. The oscillating feature is great for cooling one room, but we point ours at our ceiling fan. We also have a carpet dryer fan pointing down the hallway, which has a fan at the end pointing into our master bedroom. This unit keeps the whole house comfortable. The auto features work well and the physical buttons make it easy to use. I was hesitant to spend so much money, but it was worth it. My only complaint was the sliding window adapter, but some black duct tape helped a lot. Good luck with that, but all these units are that way, regardless of brand. -
Quality Astonishing
Review by Vyctoria / (Posted on 5/14/2023)This air conditioner is the quietest I've ever had, with the compressor almost inaudible. The fan noise is noticeable but not loud. It works perfectly in my 1000 sq ft shop with 20 ft ceilings. My only issue is the size and lack of flexibility of the exhaust outlet, so be sure to check the specs for non-standard window installations. Other than that, I love it! -
Quality Incredible Serene Robust Team Flawlessness
Review by RJ / (Posted on 4/13/2023)The portable ac will be utilized to cool, heat, and dehumidify the first floor, which is over 1000 square feet. The house is well-insulated, and the technology seems promising. We will have to wait and see how well the heat pump performs next winter. -
Quality Awesome!
Review by Janet / (Posted on 3/31/2023)The portable AC unit works well for cooling my bedroom, dropping the temperature to 65 degrees, which my previous unit couldn't achieve. However, I've had some issues with the hose and water exhaust. It fills up a mop bucket in 5 hours, but the water output is inconsistent, leading to some overflow and worries about potential malfunctions. Overall, it's been effective for my needs, but the water management could be improved. -
Quality Utterly fantastic
Review by Dayna / (Posted on 3/31/2023)This portable ac is fantastic. It's quiet, powerful, and easy to set up and use. The adapters could have been better, but that's a minor issue. I'm using it in a Florida room with no insulation and a metal roof, and it's always been warm even with other AC's running. But this unit is a miracle. Even with the sun beating down and temperatures at 96 degrees outside, the room is icy cold midday. It runs quietly, uses less electricity than previous units, and is simple to program. I couldn't be happier with it. -
Quality Efficient temperature control
Review by Michael. / (Posted on 3/23/2023)The heat and cool functions both work well, with the heat even operating below the recommended temperature. The cool function blows out very cold air. The unit can be noisy on high but is quiet on low. The remote operation is a bit frustrating as changes made on the unit do not reflect on the remote. Overall, the unit is worth the price and effectively keeps the room at a comfortable temperature. -
Quality Excellent Portable Air Conditioner/Heater!
Review by Sarah / (Posted on 2/24/2023)I purchased this Impecca air conditioner because I live in an old, poorly insulated rental house in Texas. The central air system is expensive to run and struggles with the heat. I chose the Impecca for my 300 square foot bedroom, even though it may seem like overkill, because my old Black and Decker unit had trouble cooling the room on hot days. The Impecca is more energy-efficient and should be cheaper to run. I initially wanted the extra BTUs for cooling, but I ended up using the heater during a late February cold snap. The unit has been great at maintaining a comfortable temperature in my room, despite significant temperature swings outside. It's also quieter, with a more powerful fan and a quieter compressor compared to my old unit. I plan to update this review after experiencing the Texas summer heat. -
Quality Appreciating my Silent portable ac
Review by Sean / (Posted on 2/21/2023)I don't have information on the power consumption, but I really like this portable ac. It's a heat pump that can make a cold day warm or a hot day cool, even though it does lose efficiency in cold weather. The remote works well, and I haven't experienced any extra vibration noise, even when I placed it on top of a clothes dryer. It's heavy, so I wouldn't recommend doing this alone or at all. -
Quality Absolutely superb
Review by briana / (Posted on 12/7/2022)This unit is amazing. I really appreciate the heat function and I'm excited to use the AC this summer. I'm not sure how it has impacted my bill yet, but I'll try to provide an update later. **Update** It's been almost a year and the unit is still working great. I love the heater and the AC works really well. I absolutely love this unit, it was worth every penny. I use it every day. -
Quality Excellent in my area
Review by Laura / (Posted on 11/7/2022)The controls and fan on top might be a problem if you have a cat, as mine has jumped up a few times. I am in the process of making a protective grudge DIY, but I suggest for future models to include a grate on top of the controls that can be lifted up for access. This would provide protection for those with cats. Just some food for thought. -
Quality Our downstairs is as cold as ice.
Review by Kristen / (Posted on 10/13/2022)We purchased a portable AC unit for our base house in southern California where there is no AC. This unit can cool our entire downstairs in just 20-30 minutes (approx 1000sq feet) and is very quiet. The remote control works well and it was easy to install. It's definitely worth the price. -
Quality Impecca 12,600 BTU Review: Two Months In
Review by Taj / (Posted on 10/7/2022)After waiting a couple of months to see how the Impecca held up, I can now provide a thorough review. I was initially concerned about the drainage, performance, and noise level, but I am pleased to say that this air conditioner has exceeded my expectations.
In a small 11x11 bedroom, setting the temperature to 60 degrees Fahrenheit can actually cool the space down into the mid to upper 50s. The machine also handles the heat and humidity of the southeastern climate with ease.
In terms of noise, the unit operates quietly on the lowest settings in air circulation mode, but the compressor can be a bit loud when it first activates. However, once it kicks in, the noise is not disruptive, and I am able to work comfortably at my desk just a few feet away.
I do wish there was a quiet mode setting that would run the compressor at a lower setting more consistently to maintain temperature, as the initial full power start-up can be slightly annoying. However, the noise is never enough to wake me from sleep, and it's comparable to a box fan set to medium-low.
The Impecca is highly effective at quickly cooling a room, even in the Florida heat. I was initially worried about drainage, but I have not had any issues with water accumulation in the unit.
Installation was straightforward, and the unit comes with extra panels and adapters for added convenience. It effectively keeps outside noise at bay, and the overall durability and performance have held up well.
The unit has developed a vibration noise when the compressor runs at full power, which is somewhat bothersome, but it still cools effectively. I recommend keeping the filters clean for optimal performance.
The remote control and app are both convenient for adjusting settings, and the unit has not significantly increased our power bill. Overall, I am very satisfied with the Impecca and would consider purchasing it again in the future.
I attached two decibel measurements. The average for medium fan is 54 and the average for the unit running in AC mode is 61 with spikes up to 68.
I also tested the heat function and found it to work well, although it does collect condensation that needs to be drained or evaporated.
Overall, the Impecca has been a great investment for cooling my space and I am very grateful for its performance, especially during the Florida summer. -
Quality Silent but effective
Review by hector / (Posted on 10/4/2022)I have this quiet portable ac in my bedroom. -
Quality Dominant force
Review by John / (Posted on 9/20/2022)The box arrived in poor condition and slightly wet, causing damage to the rotating air vents. Despite its large size, the window kit is also larger than most. The unit provides excellent airflow and effectively cools down the area. It operates quietly, sometimes making me forget it's even there. -
Quality Great AC with poor window kit
Review by Sasha / (Posted on 9/18/2022)Our second summer using this AC and we are pleased with it. We had to use black duct tape to fix the window kit, but it's holding up well. The AC is quieter than others we have had and works really well. Despite the struggle with the set up, we highly recommend it. The pros outweigh the cons. If the manufacturer improves the window kit, it would be even better. -
Quality Top Portable AC Unit I've Owned
Review by Richard / (Posted on 9/16/2022)Initially, I was unsure about the brand of this portable AC, but after reading positive reviews, I decided to try it. So far, it has lived up to expectations, especially in terms of energy efficiency as an inverter. The dual hose has noticeably improved the cooling process, and the remote and wifi features are very convenient. -
Quality Easy Installation and Remote Operation - Dual Functionality in Heating and Cooling
Review by webo / (Posted on 9/15/2022)I recently received this item and was pleasantly surprised by how quickly it started working. I set it at 72 degrees and it took only 20-30 minutes for the temperature to drop from 75 to 73 in my big living room. It feels cool near the machine and is comfortable to be around. The noise level is acceptable for me. I'm now considering how to install it at a big sliding window on ground level. I plan to buy some window guards and put them on. I also like that this AC has a heating function, although I haven't tried it yet. The manual claims it can save 40% on electric power, so I'm hopeful. I would recommend this product. -
Quality Top-rated portable AC around!
Review by Paul / (Posted on 9/13/2022)The Impecca Portable AC is an exceptional unit that outperforms other portables. We replaced one of our units with this model and found that it circulates air better. However, we encountered shipping issues, as two units arrived in damaged boxes and were ultimately returned. Despite this, we believe the units are high quality. -
Quality Great value for the price
Review by noodlerunner / (Posted on 9/10/2022)The cooling unit is doing a great job in the 500sf storage area. I am considering purchasing another one. -
Quality Double approval
Review by Wendy / (Posted on 9/9/2022)The product excels in every function and surpasses anything from LG or other brands. -
Quality Divine intervention
Review by Amy / (Posted on 9/6/2022)I couldn't have a window unit or PTAC in my condo, and the PTAC alternatives were too expensive. The portable AC I had was loud and didn't cool well. I found this unit with a good review and it has been a great solution. It's quiet and cools my studio apartment well. I hope the heat function works just as well. It's a bit bulky and I wish it came in white, but it's definitely better than the alternatives. -
Quality Superb portable AC
Review by Henry / (Posted on 8/31/2022)I purchased this unit to replace my Delongui Pinguin 10,000 BTU because it was not effective in cooling my garage. I can confidently say that this unit is amazing - it really delivers! I've been using it for 2 weeks and it consistently maintains the set temperature in my garage throughout the day. I highly recommend purchasing it - it is well worth it. -
Quality Practical alternative if window unit is not feasible
Review by Edward / (Posted on 8/27/2022)This portable AC is the best I've used. My previous one with the same BTU rating couldn't keep my room cool enough during the hot weather. This unit can keep my room much cooler than the outdoors, thanks to its dual-hose design. It's also quieter and more efficient due to its variable speed compressor motor. The remote control is a bit large and can sometimes get out of sync with the unit. I haven't tried the heating function yet. Overall, it's a solid choice if a window AC isn't practical. -
Quality Excellent air conditioning unit
Review by candp / (Posted on 8/26/2022)Great cooling with minimal noise. -
Quality Portable Air Conditioner
Review by Kimberly / (Posted on 8/8/2022)In August, I purchased this portable ac to cool my master bedroom, which receives direct sunlight from the south and is the hottest room in the house. It only takes 5-10 minutes to cool the room. -
Quality portable ac:
Review by NeverTooManyCats / (Posted on 8/6/2022)I initially chose this AC over the LG dual inverter but regretted my decision. The unit itself seems well constructed, but the hose and window attachments are poorly designed and ineffective. The plastic window attachment for horizontal sliding windows does not stay together securely, and the hose is inflexible and prone to coming loose. The window kit itself also allows for air leaks, defeating the purpose of sealing the windows. Additionally, the hose is difficult to position due to its size and inflexibility. Overall, I would recommend choosing the LG over this unit, especially for horizontal sliding windows. -
Quality My TOP Pick for Portable Air Conditioning!
Review by Blaze2k / (Posted on 8/4/2022)This summer has been brutal with temperatures consistently over 100 degrees. Our home's AC system was struggling and racking up high bills, so we decided to invest in a portable AC. We opted for a dual-hose unit from Impecca/Toshiba, which pulls in air from the outside and does a great job cooling our downstairs living area. The smart variable inverter technology allows it to adjust power and conserve energy, and the app control is a great feature. We also purchased a cheaper single hose unit for the upstairs office, which turned out to be a mistake. It struggled to keep the room cool and consumed a lot of power. We ended up returning it and investing in another Impecca/Toshiba unit, which has been a game-changer. Overall, we are thoroughly impressed with these units and have no issue recommending them. They are energy-efficient, have smart home functionality, and are great for space. Just be mindful of the delivery and shipping process. If you can get your hands on one of these units, it's definitely worth it. -
Quality Great Portable Air Conditioner
Review by That Guy / (Posted on 7/30/2022)I have the same A/C in white and it's a great air conditioner. It's very quiet on the low setting, but gets louder when turned up, although not as loud as window units without the inverter compressor.
It's also energy efficient, running for over a month on low and only costing just under $55.00 in electricity.
Installation is easy and the tip for using adhesive insulation around the window plenum edge instead of on the window frame makes it easy to switch to another window if needed.
The trade off with the inverter compressor is that it doesn't cool as well as a normal compressor, but it's more energy efficient. The fan speed and temperature are more tied together, and the unit seems to have an auto mode for all fan speeds. The condensate works well and doesn't need to be drained often.
The Impecca unit is popular and rightfully so, but the Danby model is identical and generally cheaper, so it's a good option if you don't need the heat pump heater function. -
Quality Silent and efficient.
Review by Gary / (Posted on 7/22/2022)I purchased the Impecca AC based on a recommendation from the NYT and my own research. I had previously bought a Whynter ARC-14SH, but found it to be loud and clunky, so I returned it.
The Impecca cools my 950 sqft place very well during the PNW summer. It is much quieter than the Whynter AC and the inverter compressor is also less noisy. The 5-piece window kit accommodates my large 60 sliding windows, which is a big plus.
Update:
The heating is working well, but make sure to set up the drain hose when turning on heat mode to avoid the P1 error. I set up the drain hose to drain into a bucket and haven't had the P1 error since. I need to empty the bucket once a day because a lot of water comes out. -
Quality Explosive thoughts
Review by AC / (Posted on 7/18/2022)We used to have a Costco portable AC in our room for years, but it never cooled the room during the day and was very noisy. However, we now have a new AC that works nonstop and keeps the room cold all day, which is amazing. It's also not noisy like the old one, and just sounds like a strong fan blowing. We can't believe the difference it has made. -
Quality portable ac: Upgrade the installation kit to plywood for better results. Customer service needs improvement.
Review by Bret / (Posted on 6/3/2022)The installation kit was not very practical as it warped from the sun and customer service was unhelpful in replacing or providing a warranty. I ended up using a piece of plywood which fit perfectly and made the machine much better. I may cut a hole for the ducting through a larger piece of plywood in the future as the plastic adapter seems fragile. The machine works well, but the remote has too many buttons and the machine's buttons are not intuitive. It gets loud when the AC kicks on but then becomes really quiet in 'standby' mode. I wish it would stay loud as I only use it while sleeping. Overall, it seems to be a good machine, but I have not read a positive review of the plastic installation kit and the lack of customer service support in replacing it is frustrating. However, I am glad I used plywood instead as it is much better. -
Quality Awesome portable ac!
Review by TH / (Posted on 6/1/2022)This air conditioner is truly amazing! It is super quiet and the foam rubber inserts prevent any loud knocking noises. The power of the 12600 BTU model is incredible and it works well even in a humid environment. The app is easy to use and the unit does not have any issues with filling up with water. It is a bit pricey, but definitely worth the investment. I would highly recommend this air conditioner to anyone in need of one. -
Quality Maintains a comfortable room temperature!
Review by Don. / (Posted on 5/28/2022)The room stays cool and comfortable with this unit. Even at 9 am, when it's 85 degrees outside, I never have to walk into a hot room. The lack of a timer to automatically turn on the unit is a drawback, but overall I am happy with it. The convenient remote control also adds to my satisfaction. -
Quality Highly Efficient Air Conditioner and Heater at a Great Value
Review by Mark / (Posted on 5/15/2022)The unit is in good condition overall, with only a few scratches on the front that are purely cosmetic. The most important thing is that it works well, so I would give it four stars. -
Quality Should have purchased this ages ago!
Review by k_f / (Posted on 4/30/2022)I purchased this portable A/C to replace a noisy one in my bedroom. This one is incredibly quiet, even when switching from fan to A/C mode. It doesn't have the harsh sound of other A/C units when the compressor powers up. It's true that it's 42 db on the low fan setting when the A/C isn't running. With the A/C running and the fan on low, it measures 46 db from 3 feet away. The remote allows for both auto off and auto on times, which is a handy feature. -
Quality Excellent Unit. Edit: 8 Months. Now Malfunctioning. Edit: Great Customer Service.
Review by BC / (Posted on 4/28/2022)I recently purchased two Impecca 12,600BTU units and encountered some mechanical issues with both of them on first use. However, after resolving these issues, I found the units to be phenomenal. I wouldn't consider buying any other brand as Impecca's units clearly outperform others I have tried.
The Impecca units have a unique fan structure and mounting, which has led to some vibration issues and potential self-destruction. However, when the units work, they work very well. The build quality is excellent, the form factor is great, and the instructions are clear. The Impecca app and integration with the device were seamless, and the install video was helpful.
The AC and heat modes work wonderfully and are very quiet. The heat mode does not require any reconfiguration and the included drain adapter for condensate drainage is very helpful. However, I did encounter issues with persistent rattling and high-pitched squeaking, which I was able to resolve.
In January 2023, my 8-month-old unit started periodically emitting a loud buzz and stopped working. Impecca Customer Service initially provided poor support, but eventually refunded me for the malfunctioning unit. While I am a little concerned about the disposal fee for the unit, I appreciate the customer service I received from Impecca. -
Quality The ultimate portable A/C of all time
Review by Bhitt / (Posted on 4/20/2022)This A/C unit is the best portable air conditioner I've ever purchased. It's incredibly quiet, so much so that I didn't even need to raise the TV volume when I turned it on at 11pm. The air it blows out is extremely cold, and I have nothing but good things to say about it. It's definitely worth the extra money. -
Quality Top of the line!
Review by Jeffrey / (Posted on 4/14/2022)After doing nearly a year of research on portable air conditioners, I stumbled upon the Toshiba version of this product and it definitely stood out. With the highest SACC capacity rating (12K btu) on a 110V circuit, this unit is a winner. I have a 700 sqft attic loft that isn't covered by our central AC, and this unit was able to cool it to 72 degrees when it was 85 degrees outside. Despite the hot attic, I didn't experience any condensation issues and didn't have to empty any water from the unit. The unit is incredibly quiet, thanks to the variable inverter, and the build quality is excellent. The only small issue is that the exhaust hose only extends about 2-3 feet, which might be a consideration for some buyers. Overall, this unit has been fantastic for my needs. -
Quality Burdened
Review by Nazzer / (Posted on 1/3/2022)This unit is perfect for our summer cottage on Lake Ontario. It's very versatile and easy to install, and it effectively heats or cools our 800sqft cottage. We can comfortably adjust the temperature on cooler nights or in the summer. Despite fluctuating energy costs, it's not too expensive to run for a seasonal home. -
Quality It's been a challenge
Review by Seller / (Posted on 12/13/2021)I bought this Impecca air conditioner for my high-set casement window, based on a good experience with another Impecca unit. However, the confusing directions led me to install the window panels incorrectly and break a snap on the air hose. The hose also didn't reach the window, as it was too high off the floor and there was no extension available. I had to prop the unit on a box and then build my own stand to make it work. Draining it is a hassle, but the app and remote are convenient and reliable, although they don't sync up. The unit is good for switching between heat and A/C and is quiet and efficient, but it would be nearly perfect if the user manual was clearer and if stands were sold for the unit. -
Quality Amazing characteristics
Review by Lz / (Posted on 10/31/2021)This portable air conditioner has been a great addition to our home. I can't speak to the heat function since we haven't used it, but I assume it works just as well as the cooling function. I was initially hesitant about portable products, but this one has exceeded my expectations. I'm very pleased with our experience using it over the past summer. -
Quality Functions perfectly.
Review by Jeff. / (Posted on 10/4/2021)This unit has been running well in our spare bedroom and has effectively cooled down the room. However, I dislike the black color of the appliance. The fan works great if you prefer not to use the AC. I recommend using the window kit to avoid the unit pushing out excessive heat and heating up the room. -
Quality Needs improvement
Review by Nathaniel. / (Posted on 9/6/2021)The unit is very quiet, but it lacks proper sealing from the factory, causing it to exhaust conditioned air outside. I had to take the covers off and add foam weatherstripping to prevent air from escaping. -
Quality I should have purchased this earlier
Review by BoneCrusher / (Posted on 8/24/2021)This portable air conditioner is the best one we've ever owned, despite not being our first. It is incredibly quiet, especially in sleep mode which comes in handy during zoom meetings. It effectively circulates air in our large room and maintains an even temperature. The filter is easy to clean and doesn't need to be replaced. The remote is not great and took a while to set up, but it's not necessary to operate the unit. The only improvement I could hope for is an easier way to schedule its operation. -
Quality Excellent Garage Cooling System
Review by StraightUp / (Posted on 8/22/2021)The Impecca is a great cooling option for my garage in Arizona. It's extremely quiet and portable, but I plan to keep it in my garage. I installed it and vented it through the wall, and now I can work in my garage much more comfortably. The remote, Impecca Air app, and voice control with Alexa or Google are all convenient features. Overall, I'm very happy with the Impecca and I highly recommend it. -
Quality Difficult to arrange, but beneficial
Review by Trusted Source. / (Posted on 8/19/2021)The placement of the double hose connector in front of the window wasn't planned, but it's necessary. It's a bit cumbersome, but it does the job. Unlike my previous portable air conditioner, which required frequent emptying of the water bucket, this one seems to last much longer. However, the process of draining the water is more difficult with this new unit. Overall, it works well for cooling my home office, which houses 10 computers. -
Quality functions perfectly!
Review by Andrew / (Posted on 8/17/2021)This portable ac works far more effectively than my previous one from a different manufacturer. -
Quality Impecca_RDONLY
Review by Stanley / (Posted on 8/12/2021)Impecca is definitely my go-to brand for air conditioners. I own 3 of their units and they are all fantastic. I highly recommend checking for rebates through your electricity provider or state, as many offer incentives for using Impecca. These air conditioners are powerful and effective, easily cooling down my mom's entire rancher without being noisy. Even the lower-end models are reliable workhorses. If you're in need of an AC unit, Impecca is definitely the way to go. Plus, the duo model I have is even more impressive. -
Quality Game-changing unit for cooling inadequately ventilated rooms.
Review by Miranda / (Posted on 8/12/2021)This product has been very satisfying for me. I live in a very hot area and have had trouble getting my rooms cool enough with other AC units I've bought in the past. However, this unit has been working really well and I'm happy with the results. It's too early to tell if it's more energy efficient than my old unit, but I'll see how it affects my energy bill over time. -
Quality Excellent mobile device
Review by Tyler / (Posted on 8/4/2021)This air conditioner is incredibly quiet and simple to install. I replaced my standard window unit in my camper with this one and I noticed a major improvement in comfort right away. It provides consistent temperatures and I can adjust the temperature much more quickly. The low noise level is also a significant advantage. I appreciate being able to control it using my smart devices. Overall, it's a high-quality product. -
Quality Spread the chilly breeze!
Review by Agatha Christie / (Posted on 8/3/2021)This unit is fantastic! I really appreciate the inverter technology, which helps save money while still providing plenty of cold air.
I also like that it's wifi compatible, even though you don't have to use the feature. The unit is well made and is heavy, but it cools a large area easily.
The vent is adjustable and the unit comes with mounting hardware for windows. It's very quiet, even on the highest setting, and the buttons and remote are easy to use.
My only complaint is the color, but overall I'm very happy with this unit. I think it would work well in a home up to one thousand square feet. It's a great performer and I highly recommend it. -
Quality Top-rated portable air conditioner...
Review by Nebti / (Posted on 8/1/2021)This Impecca portable AC unit is highly rated by reputable reviewers, and I agree. It is a great option for homes without central air or duct work, and I didn't want to sacrifice a window for a bulky window unit. The installation process can be a bit tricky, especially for slider and casement windows. However, the unit's dual hose setup and inverter-powered compressor make it more efficient and provide precise temperature control. It can also be controlled through an app and connects to wifi for remote control. The unit operates quietly and has a pump for condensation disposal. The only downside is that the duct work makes it less portable than other portable AC units. -
Quality Cooling and Heating Functionality
Review by Sean / (Posted on 7/31/2021)This unit quickly cools down our room and keeps it at a low temperature of 65 degrees. It helped us survive some hot summer days and is easy to use with a nice LCD screen. We'll be using the heat pump in September when the evenings cool off. It has a neat design and is easy to install in windows. Hopefully, you found this review honest and helpful. -
Quality Great item! Really cooled the space!
Review by Dan / (Posted on 7/30/2021)I recently purchased an inverter portable air conditioner to cool down my 368 square foot home storage area. The unit weighs 90 pounds but has wheels for easy mobility. Setting it up was simple with the provided window attachments and the installation video. Once started, I was impressed with the powerful air flow. Within two hours, the air had cooled by 6 degrees, making the space much more comfortable. The included remote control and app make it easy to control the air conditioner from anywhere in my home. Overall, I am very happy with this product. It is well-made, easy to set up, and effectively cools the area. I can now convert my storage area into an office studio, thanks to the improved comfort. The price is worth it, and I highly recommend this product. 5 out of 5 stars. -
Quality This is a Monster!
Review by ES / (Posted on 7/30/2021)I struggled to keep my upstairs room cool, especially during hot Texas summers. I tried adding extra vents but it wasn't enough. I considered getting a mini split installed, but decided to try a portable AC instead.
I was pleasantly surprised by how well it worked. It was easy to install and the cold air it produced quickly cooled the room down. I found it to be efficient in terms of power consumption, and the dual-hose design was a smart feature.
The remote control was a bit confusing at first, but once I figured it out, it worked well. The app setup was a bit troublesome, but once connected, it provided additional useful features.
The AC was quieter than I expected, and I appreciated the dehumidifier mode. Despite not seeing any water drain, I could tell it was pulling moisture from the air. I briefly tested the heat mode and it worked as expected.
Although it was more expensive than other portable AC units, it was worth it for the quality and performance. Overall, I was very satisfied with this top-notch machine. -
Quality Cool Comfort for Restful Sleep
Review by Lewis Jr / (Posted on 7/23/2021)The Impecca 12,600 BTU(12,000 BTU SACC) Portable Air Conditioner arrived on Friday afternoon, July 23, 2021, with slight damage to the box but no damage to the unit itself. It was easy to unpack, assemble, and install in our large master bedroom window with the included hardware. The portability allowed for easy movement between rooms, but it does take up significant space next to the window. The inverter technology makes it remarkably quiet, and the Auto setting adjusts the speed of the blower and output of the compressor to maintain the set temperature. The remote control's temperature synchronization feature and the ability to link to WiFi were handy. It consumed 11.9 amps of electricity, and its CEER of 8.9 is average. Overall, as someone with an engineering background, I found the unit to be functionally impressive and aesthetically appealing. Its main use for us will be as a backup during power outages, as it can keep us comfortable without overloading our generator. -
Quality Portable AC: One Hell of a Cooling Unit
Review by James / (Posted on 7/20/2021)After researching numerous portable air conditioners, I decided to purchase this model for its performance, dual hose design, and heat pump capability. The unboxing process was easy, but the lack of packing materials was concerning. Setup required minimal tools and hardware. However, I was initially disappointed by a loud plastic on plastic slapping noise when I first started the unit. Thankfully, the noise eventually went away, and the unit effectively cooled my 1600 square foot house. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase, although I would have rated it higher if not for the initial noise issue. I would caution against purchasing this unit for its wifi compatibility, as the Impecca app is not well-functioning. -
Quality My favorite air conditioner unit
Review by Elizabeth / (Posted on 7/14/2021)This A/C unit quickly cools the room and then adjusts the fan speed to maintain the set temperature. It is likely efficient since it doesn't run at full speed all the time. The noise level is low, allowing for normal conversations and TV watching. Compared to other portable A/C units I have used, this one works the best. -
Quality Efficient Portable Air Conditioner for Effective Cooling!
Review by Esanta. / (Posted on 7/10/2021)The Impecca portable AC unit is a game-changer. Unlike traditional portable AC units that use a single hose to expel hot air, the Impecca employs two hoses, one for drawing in outside air and another for expelling hot exhaust air. This clever design eliminates the issue of pulling in warm air from outside, which can interfere with the AC's cooling capability.
The installation kit includes everything you need to set up the unit on horizontal and vertical sliding windows, although the horizontal sliding window adapter could be more secure. However, with a little bit of tape, the installation was solid. The unit also comes with a fancy remote control and the option to use the Impecca Air app for remote control and scheduling.
The Impecca is not just a portable AC, but also functions as a heater and dehumidifier, making it a versatile choice for all seasons. In my testing, the cooling feature worked like a charm, even in the scorching Las Vegas summer. The unit also has the option to rotate the top section to adjust the airflow.
Overall, the Impecca is a top-of-the-line portable AC unit with all the features you could want. If you're unable to install a central or window unit, this portable AC is a fantastic alternative and outperforms single hose units. I highly recommend it. -
Quality High Quality, Powerful, and Quiet.
Review by J / (Posted on 7/6/2021)This air conditioner is both powerful and quiet. My daughter's long hair was blowing backward as she stood in front of it, and it keeps the room nice and cool. I also appreciate the ability to control the vents or have it automatically rotate, as well as the convenience of the wireless remote. I was pleasantly surprised and pleased with my purchase, especially since my previous 12000 BTU DeLonghi air conditioner was weak in comparison. This one is much better. -
Quality As anticipated
Review by Wendy / (Posted on 7/2/2021)I received the air conditioning unit on 7/2, a few days after ordering it. The box was damaged on top, as mentioned in other reviews, but the unit itself was undamaged, apart from the blower wheel being off track, which was easy to fix. The installation was neither difficult nor easy, but it cooled my 500 sq ft room quickly and I was able to set the exact temperature using the remote control. Initially, the blower was loud but has quieted down to a livable noise level. I didn't read the instructions but watched a YouTube video instead, which I recommend. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase, although it looks a bit big in my room where I installed it. -
Quality Replace Bracket with Parentheses
Review by El / (Posted on 6/26/2021)The bracket to connect the vent to the window doesn't fit together, so I have to use rubber bands to keep them connected. Despite this issue, the air conditioner works well and effectively cools the space it is meant to. It has performed well even in 100 degree weather, and effectively cooled my living room as expected. -
Quality Top-of-the-line super room cooler for a steep price, but worth it!
Review by Melissa / (Posted on 6/16/2021)My central air conditioning broke, so I had to switch to a portable unit. After searching for a couple of weeks, I found this awesome new unit and it's been running for over 5 or 6 days straight keeping one end of my mobile home very comfortable. I couldn't have chosen better. -
Quality Mini Split Wheels
Review by Disco54 / (Posted on 6/9/2021)As an HVAC Technician, I purchased this unit for personal use and it arrived slightly late but still within the specified window. The factory packaging was not very sturdy and the box had been crushed in, causing the blower wheel on top of the unit to be impacted. One side of the wheel had popped out of the nylon bushing, but I was able to fix it. However, the unit itself seems well-made and sturdy, with all parts made of strong ABS plastic. It operates smoothly, blowing a lot of cold air with wide adjustability, and becoming extremely quiet once it reaches the desired temperature. The remote control has many convenient functions and you can hardly tell when the compressor starts, similar to a typical mini split. The compressor and motors are also variable. Overall, I'm impressed with the unit so far, but I would give it 5 stars if the factory packaging was better. I will update my review in 6 months.
