The dry white powder was luckily contained by the plastic wrap on the box, and the C batteries inside were unaffected. I decided to keep them as I needed some right away.

I have no doubts about purchasing off-brand or unadvertised batteries because these are the real deal. While they may not be the cheapest, I believe they are worth the investment. The longevity of these batteries definitely justifies the price.
