We forgot to change the batteries while living in Arizona, but after being reminded by a 2am chirp, we now make it a habit to change them regularly. We also have set up reminders on our smartphones and Alexa to ensure we don't forget. Living in California, where there is a time change, has also helped us remember to change the batteries.
