High-Quality Lens, Incompatible with iPhone 13 Pro

Despite being a solidly built, high-quality lens, it's incompatible with the iPhone 13 Pro, contrary to the product description. I'd rate it 4 stars, deducting half for false advertising, but unfortunately, that's not an option here. As shown in my pictures, the product is well-made and includes a small lighting module. However, the macro lens performs no better than the iPhone's macro mode (despite my attempts to position the Raynox lens over each of my iPhone's three lenses to achieve the best result, even experimenting with portrait mode). As depicted in photo #2, the result is approximately equivalent, rendering it nonsensical to carry something that makes no difference. Additionally, the wide-angle lens is actually narrower than the iPhone's own wide-angle lens (as shown in photos 3-6). Positioning it over the 1x lens yields a narrower angle than the built-in lens. (I verified this with all three iPhone lenses as well.) While the lens quality is good, it's not exceptional (visible color shift and fuzziness with the Raynox lenses). Therefore, the lens is not compatible with ALL iPhone models. If you own an iPhone 13 Pro/Max, I recommend considering lens systems from Moment, which offer much better lens quality (although they are designed and priced for professional users).

I acquired a jumping spider as a pet, so I needed something that could capture a clear shot of her, as she's just a baby and incredibly tiny (the size of a pinky nail). It took me a few hours to fully understand how to use it. One drawback is that you have to get the lens EXTREMELY close to the subject, otherwise, you'll lose out on details. However, once you're close enough and it focuses, the detail is really impressive ��� not the best, but still quite good! Another drawback is its weight; when you have to get so close to a subject, it's easy to slip and blur the photo. You can't use a tripod in such close proximity, especially if your subject moves a lot. Nevertheless, it achieved what I wanted, allowing me to see the tiny details of my little spider. I would recommend it.

I have an older iPad, and the stabilization on video zooms in too much for my liking. Vignetting is inevitable in every shot with the wide-angle lens, regardless of whether the case is used. Additionally, only the center of the photo is perfectly in focus, with gradual blurriness towards the edges of the frame. While this may be an issue specific to the Pixel 6, I also tested it with a 3xl, yielding similar results. It could be attributed to the way the GCam takes pictures, but without testing it on another smartphone brand, it's difficult to ascertain. Apart from these issues, the lens is reliable, and I'm satisfied with it. I wish it included a telephoto and ultrawide angle/fisheye lens like other "non-Moment" clip-on lenses. I recommend purchasing this lens kit along with another third-party kit that includes all the extras. The quality is likely comparable among these manufacturers. If all you need is a wide-angle and macro lens, this $45 kit is a safe choice, offering excellent value for money. The next upgrade would be the $120 Sirui kit, which includes two extra lenses and a better system for switching between them, albeit at almost three times the price.

The item arrived either on time or earlier than expected and was well-packaged to prevent damage. I particularly liked the box design. Inside the box, I found:* A travel case with a carabiner* Macro lens* Wide-angle lens* Lens caps* LED light* USB cable for the light* Lanyard* USB stick with a link to tutorials provided by the manufacturer (requires Internet access)* Cleaning clothAll items matched their advertised descriptions. The first thing I did was watch the video tutorials, which were concise, instructional, and informative. I then took my new gear hiking, and I was impressed. I used the lenses with my Motorola G6 mobile phone, which had a case and screen protector in place. I also used a Bluetooth remote clicker. The macro lens captured details I never imagined, and its natural blur effect automatically focused on the subject. The wide-angle lens also impressed me, as evidenced by the obligatory before-and-after shots (see images). It was not for quality but to observe any differences between the photos. Attaching and detaching either lens to the clip was straightforward, as was aligning them over the phone camera. However, due to the position of the G6 cameras, part of the clip rested on the screen, though this didn't affect the camera's operation. I did encounter some initial difficulty in squeezing the clip open, and there was some shifting when detaching the wide-angle lens to use the macro lens alone. However, realignment was easy, following the instructions in the video tutorial. On a warm day, the lens tended to fog up when placed in a pocket or in my hand, but a quick swipe cleared it up. The lanyard proved useful when I wanted to use only the phone's native lenses, and attaching and detaching it was easy. I haven't yet used the LED light for photos, but it was functional upon delivery. Attaching the carabiner to my backpack or jeans loop kept the case accessible and my hands free. I would and do recommend this lens kit to family and friends and would also purchase it as a gift. Update: On October 24, 2019, the carabiner that came with the kit broke during a later hike. It's unclear if it was a defect or if it got damaged during the hike. However, I had extra, stronger carabiners and was able to replace it myself. My opinion about the product remains unchanged, and I would still recommend it for purchase or as a gift.

This lens kit is nearly perfect. The lenses themselves are excellent and feel securely attached to my phone. As a cosmetic tattoo artist, I rely on my phone to capture images of my work for social media, so having high-quality macro photos is crucial for showcasing the detail of my work to prospective clients. This lens kit delivers on that front. However, I do have one issue: I wish the kit included separate lens caps for the macro lens and rear lens caps for the wide-angle lens. Since I primarily purchased this product for the macro lens, I now have no way to store the wide-angle lens without risking dust getting on the rear portion of the lens, nor can I protect the front of the macro lens without carrying the wide-angle lens with me at all times. If I were using this product on the go, as the website recommends, with the lens clipped to the lanyard around my neck, I'd face a dilemma with the wide-angle lens. Stashing it in my pocket or finding a surface to put it down on in the middle of shooting wouldn't be ideal. If this kit included these two lens caps, it would easily earn 5 stars from me, and I'd happily pay a higher price for the kit to include those pieces. If the company starts producing these caps separately, I would purchase them and gladly update my review to 5 stars.

The macro lens is impressive for close-ups, although you have to get very close to the subject. However, you can't expect much more from a lens that attaches to your phone. I did notice that the wide-angle lens creates a slight curve in the photo, but this might be due to operator error or the fact that the subject matter is square, making any deviation noticeable. Overall, it's a great little lens to experiment with on your phone. While it won't match the performance of a dedicated camera for specific shots, considering its fraction of the cost, it's unreasonable to expect it to compare anyway.

The individual lenses, as well as their combined use, deliver outstanding image quality. It's worth noting that the macro focus is so close that a phone's autofocus may struggle, requiring manual adjustment by moving closer to or farther away from the subject. My main criticism concerns the lens kit's caps. While there is a cap for the front of the wide lens and one for the back of the macro lens, there are no additional caps. When the lenses are shipped screwed together, they have these two caps in place. However, transporting them without this configuration would leave some of the glass exposed, which is far from ideal. Considering the price, I expected two additional caps (one for the front of the macro and one for the back of the wide) to be included, but it seems profit margin takes precedence. Nonetheless, I'm pleased with the purchase, although I'll need to use it cautiously.

For around $40, I figured it was worth a try. Unfortunately, this lens seems to interfere with the auto camera function on my phone. Despite following the instructions to change the settings, the minor increase in zoom capability just isn't worth the hassle. It's easier to use the built-in macro feature. I compared photos taken with and without the lens, and I could barely tell the difference. If you have a different model iPhone, I imagine this lens works great. It's sturdy and easy to use, lightweight, and convenient. Honestly, for the price, you can't really go wrong. The presentation was excellent right from the start. The product comes in a well-designed box, indicating a lot of thought went into the packaging. The lenses themselves work very effectively, providing both a wider angle and up-close macro focus. They feel substantial and are of top-notch quality. The clip is strong and securely holds the lens in place regardless of your device's positioning or rotation. However, it's worth noting that the clip may not accommodate larger cases; for instance, my LoveMei case for my Note 8, which is similar in size and thickness to an OtterBox Defender series, requires me to remove the case to use the lenses with the clip. Alternatively, you could hand-hold the lenses, though this may require some stability. If the clip were slightly wider and longer, it might accommodate bigger cases. Despite this, I intend to keep the set. The LED light works well and can serve as a good light source during macro shooting, especially as the phone/lens may cast shadows on the subject depending on the main light source's position. I would appreciate the addition of a polarizing filter lens and a tele-lens option (2-3x), although I understand the challenges in maintaining optical clarity in most images with such additions. I'm pleased with my purchase of this lens, especially considering its positive reviews. Most of the photos I've taken with it have been satisfactory. Pros include quality photos (as seen with the dragonfly photos, which turned out well, particularly after post-processing), clear colors, easy attachment and screw design, and ease of cleaning. I haven't encountered any rusting issues, even when using it in snowy conditions. I'm delighted that I purchased the Raynox Pro lens kit. The test shots exceeded my expectations. The glass lenses feel high-quality, with a solid precision feel, and the kit comes with a lifetime warranty. The instructional videos provided are informative (I recommend watching them first!), and the lenses are easy to attach and carry. The kit includes a good quality lanyard and case, which is a nice touch. Price was a crucial factor in my decision to purchase. I wanted to improve my macro photography without splurging on a better-known brand, and I don't think a more expensive lens would satisfy me more. I rated it overall four stars because I had to dig a bit to discover specifications for replacement caps. You can never have enough spare caps for any camera. The kit only includes caps for the front wide-angle and rear macro lenses. I ordered spares from a seller search. Unfortunately, there's no option to give 4.75 stars. The GlowClip is interesting ��� I expected a cheap feeling keychain light, but it's not. I anticipate using it frequently. However, like caps, spares don't seem to be available separately from the lens kit. I'm an old-fashioned three-point lighting kind of guy! On a positive note, 52mm DSLR filters fit the front wide-angle lens, so I can use polarizing, ND, etc. filters that I already own. I haven't yet tried macro filters. I'm hopeful that Raynox extends their line to include other focal lengths.

This lens provides excellent value for money and does exactly what it's meant to do. I particularly liked the macro capability and how the pictures turned out. However, I wish there were individual covers for each lens. Carrying the lens in a pocket can leave a lot of dust on it. It would have been perfect if the macro and wide lens had individual covers to keep them free of dust. Nevertheless, I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in trying this lens for macro photography!

I use this lens to capture close-ups of my smaller aquarium fish and shrimp. While it can be challenging at times to get it to focus, particularly in my experience with a Google Pixel 7 Pro, once you do, you'll capture crystal-clear pictures with incredibly fine details. You may need to disable any macro mode on your phone to use it effectively. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with my purchase and would definitely recommend it.

Aligning the lenses with the camera phone lens (I have a Samsung S10e) requires some practice. The lenses have crosshairs that assist in alignment, but it may take some adjustment to achieve the desired image. Additionally, I attach the lens from the right side of the camera to avoid blocking the sensor my phone uses to adjust auto-brightness. While these issues are manageable, the only annoyance is the lack of an extra lens cap for the wide-angle lens when it's not in use. Although it already has threads for attaching to the macro lens, there's no cap to protect it when not in use.

While the lens's performance deserves 5 stars, there are some minor logistical issues that lead me to rate it 4 stars. The lenses are easy to use and provide great pictures, even for amateur phone photographers! I particularly love how the wide-angle lens simplifies capturing interesting selfies. While it takes some getting used to the close-up lens to capture well-focused pictures, it's still manageable. The lenses are lightweight, but the glass still adds some weight. I find it uncomfortable to wear around my neck without attaching the lens clamp to something like a backpack shoulder strap to distribute the weight. Since I primarily use it for backpacking and hiking, it would be helpful if there was a string attaching the lens cover to the lens to prevent the lens cap from falling into dirt or getting lost. If you're in the market for a lens, I'd say, "get it!" You won't regret your purchase in the long run.
