I purchased this sleeve for a Frigidaire wall A/C and had some concerns about the size, as Frigidaire recommended a slightly larger sleeve. The sleeve came disassembled, but once assembled, the internal dimensions are 14.875 inches in height and 24.5 inches in width. As long as your A/C is smaller than these dimensions, it will fit regardless of the brand. However, if the A/C is too small, there may be a larger gap to fill.

The product arrived with damage to the corners and top due to poor packing. However, since it is made of thin, inexpensive Chinese steel, it was possible to bend it back into shape using pliers and a wooden hammer. It was clear that the sides, top, and bottom were made separately, as the screw holes did not line up. With some effort, clamps, and drilling, I was able to make the screws fit. The instructions, which should have been simple for a basic box shape, seemed to have been poorly translated and copied multiple times. As a result, I had to put in a significant amount of work to assemble the box. If you are not skilled at DIY projects, this could be a frustrating experience. After making corrections and fixes, the box eventually fit into the opening with minor adjustments.

This summer, our 40-year-old through the wall AC unit stopped working. After considering several AC units, we chose to purchase one from Amazon because it was available sooner than other sources and came with a wall sleeve, which was necessary for installation. The unit arrived earlier than expected and was well packaged. However, the plastic pieces broke when we tried to tighten the screws, causing the sleeve to not stay together. Thankfully, my husband was able to find a solution using rivets. Although we don't expect the sleeve to last as long as our old unit, it is doing its job for now.

After installing a through the wall AC unit in my garage, I now understand why mini split units are the better option. The actual installation wasn't too difficult, but the instructions were not helpful and the screws on the exterior of the box were not flush. This caused some issues with the wall opening. It would have been helpful to have exterior trim and waterproofing recommendations included. I had to improvise with metal flashing and window seal flex flashing. Next time, I will definitely choose a mini split unit.

This wall sleeve is efficient and easy to install. You don't need to spend extra on an expensive brand, just make sure to check the dimensions of your wall unit. The only downside is that you'll need to purchase a sturdy metal vent cover for the end cap, though the unit does come with a solid metal cover for winter protection.

We live in a house built in 1925 and were disappointed that the air conditioner sleeve sticks out far from the wall, even when using the closest bracket holes. The instructions were thorough for most brands of air conditioners, but not for the Impecca brand. This made installation more challenging, especially since the included foam pieces were not clearly labeled for use with the Impecca air conditioner. Despite these issues, the quality is good and installation was easy. However, we had to give it 3 stars due to the lack of clear instructions for our specific brand and the protruding sleeve. We will need to be creative with our trim to accommodate it. Overall, we are mostly satisfied with the purchase.

After initially feeling frustrated with this project, I found that the parts had a thick coat of enamel that made it difficult to use a screwdriver. I ended up bending the receiving tabs but was able to straighten them out with pliers and use a drill at a slow speed to secure the screws. I also had to adjust the alignment of the optional screws, but overall, the project only took five to ten minutes once I figured out the right approach.

I sometimes feel like buying things online is hit or miss, especially after reading reviews. However, I didn't have any trouble with this item. It comes unassembled in a three inch thick box with instructions and marked panels for easy assembly. It also includes block off plates for exterior wall installation. I used it with an Impecca AC, but it can work with other makes as well. The box is coated with enamel, but some of the tips were bent and the enamel peeled off when I straightened them. I recommend using an electric screwdriver for assembly, as the screw points bend easily. The sleeve does not come with a rear grill, but my new AC did include one. I suggest waiting for your AC to arrive before purchasing a rear grill. Overall, I had a good experience with this product.
