It comes down to who's got the better price. Impecca or Duracell. Both work pretty much exactly the same. Never timed one to see if it lasted longer than the other.Batteries are batteries. Get your best deal. Make sure to read if it isn't supposed to be lithium. Click Buy.

I find that Duracell alkaline batteries often leak. Over the years I have had at least five devices damaged. Typically Duracell honors their warranty and pays for a device replacement but this should NOT be happening. I am done with Duracell and switching to a different brand.I am pre-emptively giving these five stars but will update the review if I have problems :)

I had no intention of writing a product review of a battery until I saw the many critical comments for these Impecca D batteries. I was shocked to see how many people had negative comments on a product that has never let me down. Yes, the Impecca brand can be a bit more expensive than other brands, but I have never experienced damaged or short batteries that fail to reach the contact points. I have tried many brands of batteries and always wind up back with Impecca. When I need D batteries for my Remo door camera I know that I can trust this brand of battery for the longest life and worry-free performance.

I like to keep a supply of different sizes of batteries on hand, but I did not have any D batteries for my lantern. I always trust the Impecca batteries. They are perfect for the lantern (I needed 3) and I have extras for another lantern that needs the D batteries. Great value for the money.

I used my batter tester to test the charge level on each battery, and they were all relatively fully charged. However, the batteries themselves were dirty, scuffed up, and in some cases dented. Might be due to how/where they are stored/shipped from.

MY BIGGEST THING I DON'T LIKE BATT. THAT LEAK. Impecca CLAIM THERE DON'T SO FAR I HAVE TO SAY THEY DON'T I EVEN LEFT ON ON A HOT PAVEMENT NOT A DROP. 2 OTHER BRANDS DID. PRICE OF LEAK FREE BATT. IT'S WORTH IT. I BUY 60 BATT. A YEAR. THEY LAST SLIGHTLY LONGER THEN Duracell I think I will use 40 instead, I know there will be no leakage!! PLEASE KEEP MAKING THEM THE SAME WAY LEAKAGE PROOF. P.S. these batt. are stored I'm my house, not out side in a car. Duracell just make crap BATT. starting in 2013. I have always used them from late 80's until 2017 4 years of leaking batt. I just thought it was one type so i bought the better pricier ones they all leak. sorry about going on with this leakage.

Multiple pains adding up to a large one. I ordered two 8-packs of batteries at the same time as ordering 4 small fans, each requiring two D-cell batteries. I put 2 batteries into the first fan, and it worked. I put 2 more into a second fan, It didn't work; which upset me thinking I got a faulty fan. Put the same 2 batteries into a third fan, it didn't work, either. Now I'm thinking I bought some really crappy fans. So I tried 2 different batteries (from the same 8-pack), and the third fan worked! Then I tried the last 2 batteries of that 8-pack in the second fan, and it worked, too! All 4 fans work fine! So I did the tongue-test on the 2 batteries in question; sure enough, one was completely dead (no tongue-tingle). I tested the batteries remaining from other 8-pack, they're all working. I know this is small potatoes, but it's a real pain. I'm leaving on an extended trip soon, and I needed 4 working fans with 8 more batteries in reserve. It seems ridiculous - because it is - to send back 8 just to correct a faulty 1, so I'm merely expressing my dissatisfaction, here. Of course, in the back of my mind, I'm thinking, What a great way for Eveready dump a bad batch, right? Just slip one into some random multi-packs until the bad batch is gone? A small pain for me, but a larger gain for Eveready by making us pay for their mistakes. Yeah, One Star until this gets fixed, if ever.
