This microwave was purchased after extensive research to find a replacement for a Chefman toaster oven/air fryer in order to save counter space. So far, we are happy with its performance and hope it will last. It has been used to bake brownies and other items, and the air fry function, while a bit slower than the Chefman, works well. This microwave and convection oven is a great replacement for an older microwave and is especially useful for keeping your house cool in the summer. However, it's not a perfect replacement for an air fryer as it takes longer to cook foods. Make sure you have enough clearance around the machine to accommodate the heat it puts out on the back and sides.

This microwave has some great features like being quiet and easy to clean. However, there are a couple of major annoyances. The non-microwave features require a 12 inch clearance above the unit, which I didn't know until I read the instructions. This would require kitchen remodeling, making it useless for me. Additionally, the buttons don't light up against the black background, so I need to have the room lights on or use a flashlight to use it, which is very irritating. I wouldn't recommend this microwave without pointing out these issues first.

After 20 years of flawless performance, I had to replace my absolutely excellent Sharp Carousel Convection Microwave as it is no longer available. This new model has similar features and capacity, but the build quality and overall feel of the door, handle, and components are not as solid as the Sharp. I recently replaced my old microwave with this new one and I'm loving it! My favorite feature is the ability to shut off the beeping. It functions like a normal microwave and heats up food quickly. I appreciate that this oven fits on my bakers rack with the addition of a piece of thin plywood because it is a little deeper than the microwave I had before. The microwave function cooks accurately and efficiently. The convection oven works well with some adjustments made while cooking with cookie sheets and baking dishes. However, I don't think it's a good idea to use the convection feature while the microwave turntable is in place since the base for that has plastic wheels. I use a metal roasting rack instead of the glass microwave plate to set my cookie sheets and baking pans on, so it has air circulation and avoids the turning mechanism. I believe the manufacturers should have considered this when designing the product. Overall, I like the oven, but I think there are some idiosyncrasies that could be improved upon. I hope the manufacturer will consider baking with all features of the oven before packaging it, to ensure it is more convenient for the consumer. Additionally, including a few more accessories and a small cookbook would be beneficial.

This kitchen appliance is exactly what I had been hoping for since Sunbeam discontinued their combo microwave, broiler, oven in the late 80s.
